OK I got the problem resolved 2 weeks ago but forgot to post. It was quite simple at least this time. I reset the i-Drive by holding the radio volume button down for 30 seconds and when it came back on it recognized the USB again. The problem was that whatever I stuck in the USB port wasn't being recognized even though the port itself was fine. So it ended up being an i-Drive issue more than the port itself. I hope it doesn't happen again but so far it's been fine.
