Its just stupid. Literally their top and most brand loyal customers are likely gen x'ers and boomers. I don't see how anyone in the board room would think this would garner positive press/reactions. I said it in another thread, but I seriously think they let Audi or Mercedes take over their social media, these ads are like self-sabotage.

Furthermore, at least on some other car forums, there's this idea that Boomers don't use Twitter. Has anyone noticed some tweets coming from the US government the last couple of years? I should think there's quite a large portion of that generation well- aquainted with social media. My head still spins at BMW going after what's likely the lions share of their customer base. Boomers aren't the seniors the previous generation was. My Dad did 72 push ups on his last birthday- and just bought a new Audi this year to go with his boat. BMW is really screwing this up.
