Take them to small claims and go for the full amount in your state, should be $5k or over and add up the damages, your time, etc. they will end up losing and you'll walk away with a nice profit, and they would have learned an important lesson. Thanks - yes, I plan on small claims. $40 to file (or $65 for sheriff delivered - I like this option
) and $3k limit. Hopefully no one will go thru this again at their shop.
