I've read that if you have any damage that requires a repaint it's very difficult to match the paint, so often it is recommended to repaint entire sides of the car instead of individual panels so the differences are less noticeable. Example - Saw this M5 in what looks like Frozen Monte Carlo Blue listed on car gurus, got excited, then saw pics 6 and 7 and now I get why they repaint the entire sides. https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/share/274449546.
