Depending on your model year (due to changes in modules during the production run)...the Bimmercode app allows you to change some camera settings to either stay on longer...or use up to a certain speed.
For example...in the screen shots below from the
www.Bimmercodeapp.com website...you can click on SUPPORTED CARS (then select accordingly) and see what coding options you have. For the f06/f12/f13...you can see what coding you can do to the rear view camera and side view cameras to change their default settings from the factory...again, distance and MPH that the cams can be activated is what you can change:
