Issue with Ceramic Pads on Steel Rotors

So I want to change out the pads on my m6 gran coupe as the brake dust is simply a nightmare for someone like me who prides themselves on having a clean car. I will likely go with Power Stop pads for the front and Akebono for the rears (don't think Akebono makes the ceramic fronts for the m6).

But my question is, for those of you who've made this change, did you get a weird rust-like ring on your rotors after the swap? I put the Akebono's on my previous AMG this past summer and while the brake dust dramatically decreased, I developed this rust ring on my rotor which drove me insane. Is there some special break-in process I need to be aware of before I install them on the GC? The look was enough to make me want new rotors while I had the AMG. Attached is a photo of what I'm talking about..

Side note: I call myself doing the hard braking from 25-40mph thing on the AMG but it didn't seem to help.

Any steps and/or ceramic pad recommendations are greatly appreciated.
