Problem is if it is locked up, at 3am I would have to fumble with keys.
Then maybe I would be killed dead by an intruder OR said Elephant. hahaha
I also want to practice on this gun, as I have never shot before.
So I need to try and find a nice quiet place and maybe somone who can teach me to shoot

Really best for you to decide. I keep mine next to the bed. No little kids though.
