Actually it's called develop time. These cars have been in the work since 2017 with the EV m2.
It's a matter of having a full range of options for customers. They already said they will sell what market and emissions rules demand.
Hard-core fans won't likely buy this but it will sell for EV folks and the tech will trickle down across the EV lineup and the lesson learned to the ICE cars.
