Something else that seems to be common is having a clogged system when using off-brand fluid.
I personally have only run the genuine BMW fluid or the Rain-X branded fluid. But a friend of mine had issues on two of his BMWs clogging up when using another brand. I’ve also seen this issue discussed online before and most people say that if you use the BMW branded fluid you won’t have any issues.
Not sure what kind of magic ingredient BMW puts in theirs, but some people swear by it.
