Very good point. I started searching early January. Considered M5 m6 740i, 540i 2018, and the 640i was like the wild card. Ended up buying end of Feb. Also had to settle for high miles (100k miles) just to have the colour black, active cruise and drive assist package. I figured comfort seats i could retrofit (something I have just done recently). And I have no cameras as well so will also be retrofitting rear boot cam. (have genuine parts ready). Those 2 extra options are costing me £750 in parts which I think is amazing.
Paid £17k for mine ... 640i GC facelift 2015 with 100k miles. I'm ok with the mileage. My e46 is on 235k miles and self maintained (engine side) so I know what needs to be done to keep this thing going. Spark plugs and coil packs are probably original so I'll definitely be doing them soon (they don't always give codes when coils are intermittently failing).
Having a look now there's only about 15 640i GCS available in UK, and those online have too many missing buttons for my liking...! I guess you have to be patient, like very patient.
