A few years ago the tire shop where I had my summer wheels fitted back on lost the very same nut. I called my local BMW dealer and they said I should go by with the car. So I visited them and someone took the full box of these nuts (different sizes of course) and tried a couple until he figured out the one that fitted. Based on this hands on test I was then able to order a new one which the tire shop accounted for. Thus I would also say a dealer visit is unavoidable.
