Canvas top allows a rolling up or down sequence. That's proven very handy when sudden rains appear. ZERO motion allowed with the hard top.

Most importantly, the hard tops are MUCH heavier and basically take all trunk space. I could put a golf bag in my sixer with the top down. I can put my golf shoes in my M3 with the top down. With a bigger six series, you'd have zero room.

I understand many may disagree as my instincts were do lean toward the hard top too until I lived with both.
good answer. never owned a softtop but i think ill look into it.
