The six series has a thick multi-layer canvas top that I found to be as quiet as the hard top for all practical purposes. I came from an '06 hardtop to an '07 vert Would a sound meter confirm that? Doubtful, but it has to be very close.

Canvas top allows a rolling up or down sequence. That's proven very handy when sudden rains appear. ZERO motion allowed with the hard top.

Most importantly, the hard tops are MUCH heavier and basically take all trunk space. I could put a golf bag in my sixer with the top down. I can put my golf shoes in my M3 with the top down. With a bigger six series, you'd have zero room.

I understand many may disagree as my instincts were do lean toward the hard top too until I lived with both.
