I have a m6 Gran Coupe with 62k miles that I use as my DD, San Marino Blue on Silverstone, CCB's, Akra exhaust, Dinan intake, HRE P104's and a 6MT so IMHO quite a beauty.

I had been considering selling it to get something more modern under warranty but considering what I'll get for it and with the 6MT in a big car I can use as my DD I still enjoy it a great deal instead I think I'll do some refresh work on it and plan to keep. Its well kept but the CF roof needs refinishing, I'll respray the bumpers, take out some door dings,

I have other heavily modified cars and tack cars, not looking to go there as this is my practical DD but the suspension seems to be losing some of its body control and with this mileage its about time to start thinking about it.

If replacing shocks, I would hope to get a upgrade over OEM but I would love to retain the adjustable settings and upgrade as in good aftermarket shocks can be more comfortable, I run MCS shocks on my 1M and they're more comfortable and better handling for example.

Any ideas on ideal shock setup for street use that will ride as well or better than oem shocks?

Right now it looks like KW is only one that retains the EDC? Anyone know if these can be setup to be a markedly better ride quality than oem if I'm not worried about track performance or slamming it?

Or is the current wisdom that something like Ohlins Road and Track tuned for comfort is just going to be better than anything that retains EDC?

Any other recommendations on maintenance at this mileage like certain bushings if I proceed?

Appreciate the help, I have obviously searched but its 2026 so a lot of old noice out there.

Help With Codes After Work By Me (Searching)

IDK if it's just me or google, but searching has become increasingly difficult for me. Back when I had an E39 M5, I'd search for a code and boom, here's the code and what might be wrong and possible fixes. (Usually from M5board.com which has become more and more desolate.) Now I'll search for "bmw code XXXXXX S63" and google is giving me results for inline six engines, facebook posts that just say "injectors", or these weird A.I. sites talking about Cadillacs and Buicks.

Okay, I just got done with:

New NGK spark plugs
New Dinan ignition coils
PTP turbo blanket
New bosch O2 pre-cat sensors
New PCV valves (both sides, I broke one of them and the previous owner "fixed" the other side with electrical tape, rolls eyes...)
Heat tape the PVC valve shields and the DME shields (I doubt this has anything to do with it, but want to be thorough)
CSF intercoolers with new gaskets

Car ran perfectly fine before I did any of this. Upon startup it is really rough like it's running on 6 cylinders. Then received a drivetrain warning, reduced engine power, may continue driving, etc.

Here are the codes that are stored:

14001 Combustion misfires, several cylinders: fuel injection is turned off

140002 Combustion misfires, several cylinders. damaging exhaust gas after starting up.

140010 Combustion misfires, multiple cylinders: detected

140102 Combustion misfire, cylinder 1: damaging exhaust gas after starting up

140502 Combustion misfire cylinder 5: damaging exhaust gas after starting up

140801 Combustion misfire cylinder 8: fuel injection is switched off

140802 Combustion misfire cylinder 8: damaging exhaust gas after starting up

140810 Combustion misfire, cylinder 8: detected

1E4101 Servotronic button: short circuit to B+ or line disconnection

CDCC40 LIN bus 2: communication fault

I've been working on it the better part of the week, so cherry on top is a low battery message, start engine. Car is currently on a battery tender @11.9v. (Was at 12.4v before reading codes)

Maybe it's just a low battery, lol?

Thanks for any help, I probably did something stupid like forgot to plug something in, but searching for these codes is defeating me...

Anyone know where the Telematics Communication Box or called ATM (Advanced Telematics Module) on newer models, is? I know it gives BMW cellular access to the car.

What would be the implications of unplugging it?

I have a 2018 650 btw

I am considering upgrading to an M6 and I have noticed that the comfort seats are pretty much the same as in the non-M variant.
Does anyone of you have experience with both and can tell me if the M seats offer any more support while cornering?

As I side note I will add that I tried the F10 M5 regular seats and they were miles better than my comfort seats.

Hi all, new owner of a 2017 F12 M6 Competition Pack in the UK with sub 20k miles.

I’d quite like to break my previous and long standing top speed run of 162Mph via a trip over to Germany but need to get rid of the 155Mph limit.

I have read BMW have a factory ‘M Drivers’ pack that gets you 192 ish. Has anyone had luck with a UK BMW dealer being able to retrofit this option?

I am aware of this old thread but it was abroad: https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=972729

What’s the next best option if not? Something permanent.

Thanks
Tom
