Cool Introduction: 2014 BMW ///M6 Coupe "Competition Package" Project KTTK M6: Joey Lee

Whats going on my fellow BMW M6 owners on Bimmerpost/6post!

Just wanted to take the time to formally introduce myself on this board since I think my car is now worthy and up to par to post pictures!

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Car: 2014 BMW ///M6 Coupe "Competition Package" Alpine White / Black Full Merino Leather w/Anthracite Alcantara Headliner

Then I realized:
1. I am not married...
2. I don't like putting more than 1 or 2 people MAX in my cars...
3. Why am I buying a 4 door family sedan car at my age...
4. The extra 200-300 more of a payment wasn't going to financially kill me...
5. ALL HELL WITH IT I HAD EVERY REASON NOT TO GO WITH AN M6! lol

Coming off as a previous owner of a 2007 BMW E60 M5 (Fully modded by RPI) & 2010 Nissan GTR (SP Engineering SP650 Package) I have to admit the new 2014 BMW M6 "Competition Package" blows both of those previous cars out of the water unlike any! Beyond IMPRESSED with every aspect of this car in every way possible! (Previous list of cars goes on & on....)

I've never been so happy with my decision and don't regret it one bit! I feel that I've made the best choice on going with the 2014 BMW M6 Coupe "Competition Package" over any other car in the market for its price & PAYMENT!

The only that kills me is on deciding what car I would get next after this...

With all the options I have with this car it sure does SPOIL the hell out of me... wouldn't you all agree?

I hope you guys enjoy the pictures and don't be shy to ever say hello if you guys see me at any of the BMW events or car meets!

So my car must be making some massive power even when stock I hit 545whp and 496wheel Lb/ft on a mustang dyno...On same mustang dyno after BMS Piggyback and 400 miles adaptation I hit 562whp and 524 w lb/ft. I had heard the mustang yields 20-30 lower than dynojet

Ran it on Dynojet with just charcoal filters removed and BMS piggy back and hit 589.31HP and 548.38 wheel torque.. I know its a different car but these claims of 30hp gain from downpipes and 30 from some of these exhaust companies just seems like a sham to me...My car has neither

He says on a dynojet he got 560/500 ish... From his write up he tune says (in the works) and the downpipes are under 'future mods' waiting on tune.

So he is on par with your car, hopefully he dynos the BMS tune and the downpipes seperatly to see the difference.

i was super confused with it too because I was too busy scrolling at the pictures to see he wrote the dyno was completely stock, lol.
You got a few torques on him, but it is def on par. I would like to see his BMS and DPs dyno seperatly to see some numbers.
You are one of the few, if not the only, doing dyno stock then with mods. We got to see some real world results of the BMS. It would be nice to see this for more mods, then people can make some informed choices on $$ per HP, thats not inflated for sales purposes

I only ran mine on the mustang when stock never got a stock run on dynojet. Mustang is from what I have been told, always 20-30 lower...But whatever my numbers are my numbers which until I get some real world numbers in mean nothing more than numbers lol

Remember any dyno can read high or low ( depends on settings ). I had a friend of mine take his car back to the same shop he usually dynos his miata at and it was 20whp more than usual . He and the shop operator then figured out that a tuner who had rented the dyno the day before had changed the calibrations . ( after a tune people want to see high numbers ) A dyno is better for measuring change than giving an absolute indication of power . You just can't compare two different dynos on different days and you certainly can't extrapolate crank hp accurately . You are measuring whp and that's it on a dynojet or mustang . The one exception is a well calibrated MAHA dyno which has proven to accurately measure crank hp and drivetrain loss . That said the OP's car is reading a good 20-30 whp more than other stock non CP S63tu 'a tested on the EAS dyno which makes sense . It also has a fantastic power curve . Unlike the regular M5/6 it actually makes peak power at just past 7k ! That's why it love my CP M6 , you can really feel that increasing pull to redline

LSM - haha my dyno numbers are all straight out of the factory OEM BMW my friend

voltans4 - I've seen the new M5/M6 on Dyno Dynamics run dyno # from 480-490 rwhp max to be more accurate. It's all based on the dyno machine, temperature/weather, and how updated everyones software is as well.

As far as the BMS tune goes, keep in mind its still only just a "piggyback" unit there is no actual real ECU tune released just yet.

Anyone can be pulling different #'s based on each piggyback unit bc it's all based on how much you turn up the boost by optimizing it on the dyno rather than just doing a plug and play.

At the end of the day what matters most is safety on voiding warranty or blowing up our engines (or far worse).

I've driven my good friends Switzer Tuned M6 Coupe that is completely stock beat fully modded M5/M6's with the BMS Tune piggybacks just from upping his boost to 21.5 lbs. (Felt fast as HELL)

i agree its all relative and numbers are numbers.
However, as long as LSM continues to track progress on a mustang dyno, you can see the DIFFERENCE that each thing he does makes. Even if he loses to a stock Neon in a race...
Same for you Joey as long as you keep doing the same dyno and preferably the same place we get to see what differences make.
Its all just numbers, but what else do you have when your sitting behind a computer in between patients? Numbers are fun!

They are fun, I love the dyno tests....LOL...Im like a kid in a candy store. Truth is the dyno numbers on the dynojet were run when I mixed our shitty 91 octane Cali gas with some 100 Octane gas...Runs much better and feels stronger than just BMS and 91 octane did which were numbers from Mustang. I will take back to that original mustang dyno and test with the 91/100 mix and see.....

you should. who cares a mustang reads a little lower, all your progress is tracked so much better at this point on the mustang... Well I guess you could undo the BMS and whatever too... But trying little things and doing runs is rather fun to then dissect on these for a day or two... lol

Are you going to keep mixing fuel at this point?

Mr Karim has a shiz load done and some dyno numbers will be fun there too, of course we wish we had a baseline too, but nice to see numbers on the 'modded out' level!
