Interesting to see that you've beat 3 GT-R's so far. Instead of changing the GT-Rs, lets change the M6 to make sure everything is completely objective in this testing. Not calling you a liar or anything, but I'm one of those "won't believe it till I see it" type of guys.

Anyone with an M6 in toronto (GTA), PM me and we'll set up a race at the track. I'll see if we can set up a roll race too. My GT-R is a 2013 and is bone stock.

It's hard to believe, especially for the GTR fanboys, but it is what it is. Get over it

Wow, I thought this thread was interesting when it started but now it is full of GTR fan boys. Seriously, any of the guys/gals on this post who own a F12/F13 M6 could easily have purchased a GTR. In fact my payment would be $500 less a month. Totally different buyers. The GTR is a fantastic performance car with all wheel drive to boot under $100k. But the dealer network and service suck, it should have been handled by Infinity but then the fan boys would cry out that it is a NISSAN GTR and not an INFINITY GTR. I have better things to do than wait behind a Nissan Versa or Leaf or Juke to get in for service. I am not saying that my dealership treats me like a king but I get in whenever I want, always have a shiny new X5 or 5 Series waiting for me to drive and I absolutely love Ultimate Service and my SA. So Nissan fan boys please go back to your forums or be respectful and post constructively. I am sure there are plenty of guys willing to race you mostly for curiosity.

It's not the same GT-R. They're different GT-R's and owners. They're all '12 GT-R's though - If thats what you mean?
There is also another vid of the new M6 coupe beating a GT-R in the wet (earlier in this thread and youtube), taken by a different board.
Your '13 GT-R has 15 more hp? 545hp compared to 530hp for the '12, correct?

I think we can all agree that the GT-R is an amazing machine and in a different league as the M6 but from the vids that are out there, it shows that the M6 is no slouch

Negative! Read the description. That vid is of a modded GT-R (Y-pipe, decat and maybe even a tune?) vs. a bone stock M6

Dude, guess you are the fanboy here i dont own a GTR - i own a BMW, and i chose it for a number of reasons. But i admit the obvious - looking at the numbers and professional reviews - GTR is a faster car anyway you look at it. Some amateur videos wont prove otherwise.

I am a fanboy - of many cars. Look at my sig - (and that doesn't even tell the whole story)
Are you a professional driver? Nope.
Most of the professional reviews you're quoting, along with some of the GTR fanboys, are from professionals - mainly on racetracks. In a way you made my argument. Most of these races ARE going to be done by amateurs and there are many variables that play into a win or a loss. A win is a win. Let's say you have a seasoned track driver (SCCA) in an M6 against a amateur (first time on a track), in a GTR on a racetrack racing each other. Still think the mighty GTR will win? Not likely
The vids are showing amateur races and the M6 holding its own. This is the more likely "real world" scenario.

There is no disputing the raw power and capability of the GTR. Personally, I love everything about the GTR except the front end and the interior.

Making excuses and quoting pros (which is not likely a real world scenario), from the internet is just getting pitiful. Maybe even a little desperate

Are there any M6 drivers in the OC/LA area that want to do some non scientific testing against a stock 2012 GTR? I would like to contribute to this fine thread. Please PM me.

Thats exactly my point, by making the same pro driver take both stock cars around same track under same conditions isolates any variables that may affect the results, and in these conditions GTR would win due to performance edge.

In "real" world - anything can happen (even a civic beating an M6), but what are we discussing here, the real world cases or the raw comparison between the 2 cars? If we are to make a fair comparison we must place both cars in exactly same environment.

No one is disputing the raw power of the GTR. Hell, you can buy a GTR at a 1/3 of the cost of most exotics and it will spank them.. We ALL know this. That goes without saying.
We are ALL discussing real world here. Real world meaning, two owners, two cars on a side road or light to light. Amateurs.... Not professionals. I guess I don't understand why its so hard for people to wrap their head around that?
Then you have the GTR peeps making excuses as to why the M6 won and the GTR lost or calling the vid a fake.. I mean, really???!!!
Just let it go and view it as the OP showing that he beat the GTR (several of them and several diff owners), given the circumstances.
No one is saying that the M6 will spank the GTR on a track, with professional drivers or that these cars are in the same league. Where did you get that from? lol *face palm*

its sad to say that most of the trash talking is from people that never been inside of one or have zero experience with one, there is no was a z06 will keeo up with a stock gtr unless your talking about the older models, i have have raced many and my cousins viper and took them without to much trying off a 60 mph roll. dreamer its good for you that you beat these gtrs but i wouldnt beleive that your car is stock based on how you beat them. plus guessing your from africa and the gas they use there probobly dramatically lowers the performance of the car. or i wonder how much you pay them

[quote=kardboard;13486197]nice knowing the M6 is the faster car. The GTR unfortunatelly has to rely on launch control and AWD to win drag races...but it sure doesn't destroy the M6 on a track [/QUOT

lol the gtr spanks just about every supercar on the nurbergring, check before talking , the m6 wont come close on any given track. going to thunderhill raceway this saturday , i i pray to see an m6 there. so i can make you guys some videos of me running circles around it. i think even the m3 can beat it around the track. id like to see what it can do on the nurberging, do they have a time yet?

I am pretty sure South Africa has the same model year designation as Europe and the 2012 GTR in Europe has 550ps/545hp.

I have now done some google search on South African GTR models and found out that the 2012 model has 397kW/540ps/532hp and some sources say that the 2013 model also has 397kW and others say 405kW/550ps/543hp for 2013.

However this might be some conversion confusion between kW/ps/hp.

Yes the south african model has 398kw because of 95 pump fuel. But the white one I raced had 1lt NF ultra octane booster in it. 6kw (404 vs 398) not really that much. Not my fault Datsun cant sort out their management system. I make full power with my M6 using pump fuel!

Yes around a track a GTR will beat the M6, there was a test in South Africa and the GTR was 2 seconds faster than the M6. I dont think BMW built the M6 for track racing like Datsun did.

The point of the video is "what happens to a GTR when it meets a M6 off the track on a highway or open road" ..

Lets be honest, how many M6 owners buys a M6 for racing it on a track? Uhm almost none. How many of us buy the M6 for luxury comfort style and a VERY comfortable day to day ride.. Almost everyone.

There are no mods available in south africa for the new M6 yet, only akrapovics and that does not include downpipes and decat.

Nothing scientific here but in Longboarders Airstrip compilation video, you can see both a stock F10 M5 and a stock 13 GT-R going agaisnt Longboarders VT2 and the M5 seems to give him a better show! Still goes to show that if in fact an M6 is faster then an M5, it should also be faster then a stock GT-R!

vs GT-R @ 2:30min
vs M5 @ 6:20min

The GTR has the lead in his driveline and traction. It is the world master in bringing the torque to propulsion, the M6 is certainly not. The GTR is not the world master in raw torque and power however. So acceleration from standstill is magnificent in the GTR, the M6 can only play as from +40mph I guess? But as from then, the M6 is equal or potentially a bit better, not?

Personally, I would value the GTR as a super car like only few exist, the M6 is not, since many alternatives at hand. GTR rules, and not by a few yards only!

Yeah.. like you bought the M6 because it's a daily hauler!? Common... get real. When you buy an M6 and state you're not in hard performance, you need a shrink I guess? Or maybe you won the lottery, or inhereted some millions... maybe? And a GTR is less suited then hmmmm??

What kind of crap is this?

Yeah im with you.
I dont think its impossible for a M6 to beat a GTR from a roll the M6 has more power and less driveline loss.

But as someone said on another forum about GTR fanboys is that their saying is THE GTR CAN NEVVA LOOSSE LOL!
