Annoying Drivers Seat Squeak

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I have had my coupe for about 6 weeks and developed a annoying squeak from the drivers seat while turning a week after my 1200 mile service. I took it to the dealer who spend 2 days diagnosing the problem which they attributed to the hog rings coming loose which hold the leather to the frame. Sounds good, but the noise came back a couple of days later. The car is at the dealer now and they say there is a bullitun form BMW NA regarding a seat pan problem, but no fix yet.

I've told the dealer this is unacceptable and they need to resolve before I take the car back. I have alot of history with the dealer back to my E39 M5 and they have always been great. Not sure what to do.

Anybody heard of this issue?

I have a same issue on my M6. Haven't had a chance to take it to the dealer. Hope BMW NA will find a way to resolve this issue...this squeaking noise is so annoying!!

Squeaks and Rattles

I have a 2013 M6 Coupe and I am experiencing a lot of rattles. The noises mainly come from the B&O tweeter, the drivers door lock, (my cell phone rattling in the cup holder b/c there is no connected integration yet), and the GPS screen mount. Overall, whenever I drive over bumps the car rattles quite a bit and I don't think that it should given the quality of this car.

It seems like BMW needs to spend a bit more time on the M6 factory line.

I had the squeaky seat as well and the dealer "lubed up some bearings or things" and I haven't heard it again so far. This was about 400 miles ago so knock on wood. Ofcourse I took it in for the brakes squealing and they said they didn't hear it when they drove it.... BS

I have had the door lock rattle since the day I bought the car. On my 1,200 mile service they ignored my request to have it fixed. I now have the seat squeak as well.

I do not have the BO system but my audi did and I always had rattle problems with those speakers.

Over 6K and no seat squeak yet. Small fine rattle in driver door over bumps but not enough to have dealer pull the door card off and break seal. Brake squeak problem solved with solution from NIFSAN, see thread. Snap, crackle, pop, dealer thinks it is faulty AMP, replacing it.

I have had the seat squeak on and off since I got mine in August 2012. I have also had the crackeling noise out of my center dash speaker on and off. The brakes make a ton of noise when the brake dust builds up. I have confronted the dealer on all issues and they are willing to mess around with the seats, but say there is nothing they can do about the brake noise and speakers! Very annoying on a $120K car!

My dealer told me that BMW was coming up with a fix and there was a bulletin out about it. Something to do with the seat pan. They ordered the parts and I am taking it in next week to be fixed. Hopefully, it will work! I will post the results.

Thanks. Keep us posted.
Should I ask my dealer or order some specific parts to fix it?

Parts came in for the fix and it is at the dealer. The main part is a new seat pan. Supposedly, the BMW service rep for the area is going to oversee it. I will post the results.
