Open exhaust flap mod..please help
So I tried to do what is explained in many places on this forum and described as being a 5 minute easy modification.
The problem is that my flaps are closed by default. When the car is in the garage the flaps are closed so if I remove the rubber tube that is attached the flaps are closed regardless and stay that way! I pushed on the flaps with a screwdriver and they almost felt spring loaded? If I zip tie the rubber tube and go for a drive will the flaps open and stay that way after? |

That's a no go for me!
My flaps are closed by default. When I turn on the engine they don't close since they already are. I removed the tube and closed it off. Went for a drive in Sport+ mode and when I returned, parked the car and turned off the engine...the flaps were still closed!! |

I believe the same result can be achieved simply by unplugging the actuator electrically.
I have done this before quite easily in my old E92 335i without any error codes or noticeable side effects for years. Here's a post on how it was done on an E92: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=80661 Anyone know whether we can do the same for the F12/13 650i? |
