I actually like the 20 inch look before the drop better. Do you happen to know the tire size on the 20 inch wheels?

Thanks, I thought the back tire looked wider than usual. I really like the look of the 295.

Not a fan of drops beyond what BMW does already. It looks like a hip joint that lost its joint-spacing from years of osteo- or rheumatoid arthritis.

But... To each their own.

I do like the wheels Studie picked though!

Just received word from 3D Design that they are using Studie's car for development of a full Gran Coupe program. We can't wait to see the finished product

I just don't get the point from dropping the car below the level of what BMW have set already. It makes the car harder to drive (Because roads are not perfect) and increasing the chance of damaging the rims and the bottom of the car. Other than it looks silly and gives me the idea that the driver is a twat!

Gran Coupe is definitely growing on me! I actually like the way the 21's fill the wheel wells. Just not my wheel of choice...........

I actually really like the sizing and style of the 21" AC Schnitzer rims, I think they look better on the car than the 20s, as in they fill in the gap in the wheel wells. I think ideally, if I was to get those wheels I would not do the drop as well. Like many others have said it just ruins the ride and performance that BMW has spent months if not years perfecting in the design and testing of each model. Not only that, I think the 21s without the drop would be a happy medium between the 20"/drop combo and the 20"/no drop combo. There would be a smaller gap in the wheel wells than the 20"/no-drop (which looks like it almost has xDrive), but not so much as to make the car look like a low-rider, as I believe both the 20" and 21" wheels with a drop look. I also believe that the 20" wheels with the drop make the wheels almost look small.

Looks nice. A bit to low for me. Really like the design of the five spoke wheel.

Yet regardless of the risk involved a lower car handles better at higher speeds and IMHO looks better. If your a fan of 4x4 stance go for it lol

If you don't like lowered cars, how do you know it ruins the ride? Who told you this?
You guys who are talking against lowering probably are older. If not, you sound older by being rigid.
I'm older than most who post and I used to think lowering was not for me. I swore I'd never do it. But as the aftermarket grew, springs of all types became available. It's possible to get lowering springs for most any application and type of drive. You can buy springs with spring rates very similar or the same as stock. I have that type on my car. Just slightly stiffer, and I mean slight.....5% stiffer.....which is nothing rough at all.

So don't go around spewing negative crap about something without the whole story. Many people are susceptible to suggestion. They read something on a forum and think you automatically know what you're talking about....and you're just as unknowledgeable as they are.

Looks are another thing. Springs also come in different drops. Some brands offer very modest drops while others are slammed. Then there are coilovers with all types of adjustability.

Personally, I like no more than a 1 inch drop to improve the looks and handling without the discomfort of bounce, scraping and dodging. I just drive.

Do springs effect warranty? And if so is it possible to put the original springs back on at a later time?

No, people have been modding BMW's for a long time. It has been one of the most modded cars in history. BMW themselves will lower cars so it can't be a problem.

Yes, you can put original springs back on for any car.
