Good shots. Looking at the curb in front my concern is ground clearance. And thats before throwing on some springs or coilovers. I might have to put a sticky note on my dash for anyone I let drive "If it looks close, you are already too close."

Why don't they just rip the front lip off while they are at it...?

Lowering that any further is going to be very dangerous and expensive. The Performance Center boys get all the cool stuff. They still have a hillside full of 1M's.

F10 M5 all the way, they both have the exact same engine and yes the M5 is 25 kg heavier than the M6 coupe but it has two extra doors, alot cheaper, more practical for everyday use (more space for "shopping") and in my opinion it looks even better!

So why is it only 40 lbs lighter when it has a CF roof and a 4" shorter WB? It is a beautiful car, but it is a porker; major need of a diet.

Very nice photos!
It says the M5 is 3.03 inches taller than the M6? Looking at the side by side photo, the M5 looks much taller than that

Yes - minimal ground clearance on the front of these cars - maybe only 4in - a pain in real-world use of the car - curbs, driveways, entering/exiting parking lots, speed bumps, etc.

The funny thing is that these cars have cameras pointing everywhere other than the front...

That M6 looks so much more aggressive! Personally, it's the most beautiful BMW I've ever seen! I'm still not sure how it's still that heavy compared to the M5 but oh well.

Black lip looks to be into the curb on the M6, that makes me sad... Doesn't look like the M5 has a secondary lip, I wonder why not...

I don't know why I didn't realize that the wheelbases would be different for these two cars. I assumed since they shared the same platform, that their wheelbases would be nearly identical.

Also, where's the stock trunk lip on the M6?

+1

When compared to the 991 Carrera S (with PDK) its obesity is embarrassing:

Weight (unladen (DIN/EU)):
BMW M6 - 1850kg / 1925kg (4078 lb / 4243 lb)
Porsche 991 S - 1415kg / 1490kg (3120 lb / 3285 lb)

That's a 435kg (958 lb) difference!!

And the Porsche is cheaper.

I'm sure with the size and dollar amount they could have added two mre cameras in the front. Maybe I'll mount my GoPro HD and use it as a speed bump/driveway checker
