As our german reporter said: Holland was the European Champion of the first three games!

I think they lost their nerves after Russia scored the first goal...

I woudn't put my money on it...
We had the NED - POR final...
Then there was CRO in the mix...Spain...
Some thought ITA may get in the mix since they cleared the group stage...

Very unpredictable...

damn, I just hope that the Germany-Turkey game won't go the other way with Turkey beating Germany. That would be a bummer.

I eat my words. Original predictions were Italy or Portugal. I actually cannot believe Russia is here (even though they have some young talent). I am not surprised about Germany or Spain. They have looked very solid throught the tourney. But Turkey? WTF? Should be a good finidh to the tourney.

Germany - solid...not really (1:0 against Austria, lost to Croatia...that is not solid).
Spain looked good in the group stage, but they sucked in the 1/4s.
Russia was the opposite -- nothing imressive in the group stage, but VERY imressive against the Netherlands. If they can continue this way no one can stop them.
Turkey...they just got lucky against both -- Croatia and Czech. But they were very persistent, so I give them a credit for that.

I doubt Turkey will have another lucky last minute goal, and Germany is too experienced and disciplined.

So, I can see Germany in the finals.
Not sure who to pick on the other side...

Spain beat Russia 4-1 like two weeks ago. Russia will be without 3 of their top players due to injuries and suspensions.

In the words of George Tenant, "It's a slam dunk Mr. President!"

This is the third "over-achieving" national team he has taken out of the group stage and more, the previous two being South Korea and Australia.

Guus is the most talented tactical coach currently employed by any national teams (unless Lippi decides to comes back).
