Front bumped paint chipping

Hey I just checked my front bumper and noticed the paint chipped in 3 spots ( all under the car you gotta get down and see)
Anybody have the same issue?

That's very normal, cuz our car sits pretty low. In Toronto some gas stations' curb are damn high. I always can hear the heart-breaking sound from the bumper when I drive in the gas station.

It's a scuff mark not a paint defect

Quite easy to pick up scuff marks like this on the underside of the front bumper (especially on M-Sport models) if you inadvertently park too close or over a kerb, or approached a speed bump that was too high, or a down ramp of a multi-storey car park that's too steep.

If it's a non-metallic part, don't worry about it, more so if it's not visible. Smart repair jobs available to fix it without re spraying the entire panel.

Mine is the same.

I got same issue, I also had weird marks all over the car, mentioned it to dealer and they said its atmosphere debris.

To be honest my neighbour has got a FORD Fiesta in white and the paint is great. Unless the fall out is very localised!! I.E My car on my drive.

I love space grey, my wifes X5 is great the kids and misses destroy it, a quick wash and its fab.

On a serious note, ours cars are low and unavoidable to have that type of damage, BMW paint not great due to its ECO credentials.( Another load of BS feed to me by the SA)

Once ripped the front bumper of a 535d E60, beached it on a curb, went shopping came back reversed it out minus the bumper, it was very funny!

Another top tip always get rear folding seats, you can at least take your bumper home with you.

Not likely.

I don't have any yet on my white M6 GC. I applied a clear bra on my wife's car to prevent these chips.

This is an inexpensive 'Smart Repair' job that costs under £50 to fix.

As its not a manufacturing defect, I'd be surprised if any dealer would repair it for free but most BMW dealoers do now have 'Smart Repair' facilities or suppliers so you could have it fixed if it bothers you
