Manual Trans or DCT?

Hey guys, wanted to ask your opinion, on getting a manual, 2015 M6 GC. Anyone have one, and if so do you like it? Will manuals have a better or worse resale? I understand they don't make many in manual. And I have a chance to possibly buy one. Thanks for any info or thoughts. It's a white exterior and red interior...not sure about the red interior as well.

First off, you have to ask yourself if your purchase decision is prioritized towards 1: resale value, or 2: your enjoyment.

If 1, then DCT and get a neutral interior. Red limits your target audience.

If 2, then whatever stirs you.

Either way, it's a win-win, IMO

I am in love with MT but I have a feeling for a 196" long, 4400 lb car MT is no fun. Probably DCT has much more to do. Also I don't think you can find any M6 GC MT or you need to be limited to any option she has if you can find her. You most probably have to order one and It's headache to sell this car unless you lease her...

I've always been a stick-shift guy, BUT the DCT is amazing! It's faster and more accurate rev-matching than I could ever be. I run it in "Manual" mode 95% of the time, using the paddle shifters. But when city traffic sucks, it's super nice to be able to kick it into auto mode and just relax. Huge fan of the DCT to be honest... I feel dirty saying it, but.... yeah...

Also, wondering if you guys thought that a Manual Trans would hold it's value better, because they are more rare? Similar to what's happened with the Ferrari 360/430 variants. F cars, might be different due to limited production of those cars as well. A dealer who has this M6 GC/ manual believes manual M's will appreciate in price. Or he could be just trying to sell me the vehicle. :-) Sales 101.

Not in US ... here people are lazy to drive MT or they don't even know how to drive manual especially with over 600 HP and RWD

Value is supply and demand. Supply is low for 6MT, but the number of people who can drive a manual is shrinking and whoever is looking for a 6GC is more than likely not wanting to row their own! It's not a sports car...it's a slimmer luxobarge.

I have a 2016 M6 GC with a manual. I'm at like 2,500 miles now. I love it, just because you can play with the revs and blip the throttle and just play with the transmission with a little more control than with the DCT. Yes, you have to use your left foot, but my left foot is always located slightly to the left of my right foot anyhow, so I might as well use it. So I like the manual.

And on rev-matching, in the comfort and sport modes, the manual does rev-matching automatically. It doesn't do it in Sport Plus mode, where you're on your own.

I'm not sure on appreciating. I have read that manual Ferraris/Lambos will be more valuable. I suppose it will make it more valuable some day, maybe; but right now it's just a novelty. A fun novelty.

I have a 2015 MT, Comp pkg and love it. I always drive at high revs so rarely out of 3rd or 4th. I like having that control. There's no better feeling than cruising at 80/85 in 3rd gear at 5000rpm, punching it up to 7000rpm/105 in about a second and then slipping it into 4th. I don't think you could beat that feeling and the bark from the comp pkg exhaust is rather nice. The engine note at 80/85 in 3rd is pretty spectacular as well and I usually cruise on the freeway like that. Who needs a radio.

By the way, I drive in Sports Plus mode unless it is wet.
