I was just wondering how many people might keep their M6 because it will not be replaced? I really enjoy the DCT and although the next m5 is probably a good replacement, I am not so eager to let my M6 go. Just my thoughts. Thanks.

I know they won't ever put a manual transmission in it again. So I think I will just brave the world of "no warranty" at some point with my 2016 M6 GC. Maybe I'll buy some extended warranty for a bit, then go bare.
I know I need to be ready for a monster repair bill for some transmission/ engine repair, but so far (20,000 miles in two years) it's been fine. I need to try to get them to give me a new clutch at least, before the initial warranty expires. No problems with it, but I imagine it would eventually fail. |

My 2004 Audi Allroad had 17k in repairs from 25k to 50k miles, including suspension, turbo oil lines and transmission. All covered under an extended warranty.
My wife's 2010 Porsche Cayenne is now bare, just to fix a stuck thermostat cost $2,200 at the dealer (required the removal of the intake manifold to fix). My 2013 M6 is covered through 10/18 or 70k miles, BMW Platinum. Doubt I will keep her past that date

I had some vibration/shuddering from the day first when the car was cold (most likely in the morning) while going in reverse gear to get out of garage... but just for couple seconds... contacted the dealer and BMWNA several times and ended up to clutch kit replacement.... they called it pre-mature clutch... replacement was happened at 10k miles BTW

I think currently there is no other car that fits the bill like the M6.... the only thing missing is remote start... With the 100 degree weather in South Florida it would be nice to get into a cool car....

Keeping these cars out of warranty is out of the question.. The only hope for me is to hope for an M8GC.. Or look at other brands.. The M5 doesn't you excite me like the M6..
