Hello Fellas!

Just want to share my experience with coding for the first time. I had e90 and e70 which I paid locally to have coded.

I recently got f06 and contacted the same guy come to find out he moved out of state. I searched the local forums on e90 and f30 and couldn't find anyone or they want to much money.

I read somewhere on here that with the BimmerCode app for iOS and VGate dongle which communicates with the car I could do my coding.

I just did some coding tonight and worked out awesome in 15 minutes I was able to code just about every feature just for $46, well worth it.

The app is stable, user friendly, and every option you will want to code. Brighter LED's, change the alarm tone, fold mirrors with the key fob and on and on...

Highly recommend!

Go to BimmerCode website: http://www.bimmercodeapp.com/

They have the link to the dongle.

I went through 3 dongles from Amazon, they kept a sending the wrong one. You have to pick VGate iCar 2 OBD II WiFi, they sent Bluetooth which doesn't work.

Appreciate this - was going to go the pc route but found this, and it worked well and was super cheap.

Took the car for service and had to flash the ECU so all coding disappeared will be coding the car again this afternoon. When I run across this I will send a screen shot.

Since this sorta turning into a request thread, does anyone know the verbage/coding to have the AC default to being off when turning on the car? Or have it save the last known setting?

So this is in the first menu under "Advanced Crash Safety Module" select the last option on the list. Just did it and worked fine.

Yup, it's under "Air Conditioning" folder.

I used the bimmercode app but i didn't see a setting for mirror fold with key fob. I was able to code the comfort locking mirror fold that lets you just touch the door handle to lock the vehicle and the mirrors will fold if you hold your finger on the door handle for a few seconds...

Thanks but I've already purchased the Bimmercode coding unlock for $26.99 and the adaptor for $29.99...it seems like Carly works the same way.

OK, I had time to play around with the BimmerCode App a little longer and I figured it out. I was able to code everything the way that I wanted it setup in less than 10 minutes. I highly recommend the BimmerCode App and the Veepeak OBDCheck BLE Bluetooth 4.0 OBD2 Scanner Auto Diagnostic Tool for iOS & Android.

Hey guys, for those with the digital instrument cluster display, anyone know how to prevent it from turning orange when the headlights are on? I really like the white/blue/red day time color in comfort mode. I think the fully orange cluster at night looks cheap

Hi guys,

I'm looking to get this but a feature I really need is keeping the rear drl lights on with front drl.

I checked the compatibility list on their website and it doesn't say anywhere where this is possible?

So is this not an option with bimmercode? Thanks

Is there a setting to allow both rear passenger door sunshades (F06 GC) to be controlled from the main rear shade button on the driver's door panel? I know on a 2015 640i GC the this was possible allowing both rear door and rear deck sunshades to controlled.

If I press & hold the rear shade button on driver's door...it operates both rear doors and the rear windshield shades. A brief press operates the rear windshield only...but a press & hold operates all 3. It may take an additional press to get them all synchronized if one is up and others are down.

Check your owners manual...I'm sure it's covered.

The text from the owners manual below that are highlighted in blue are instructions for a "brief" press of the buttons on:
  • the switch buttons on the rear doors
  • the switch button on the rear doors & driver's door control panel.

The text from the owners manual below that are highlighted in yellow are instructions for a press & hold of the switch button on the driver's door control panel and rear door's button:
  • brief press raises/lowers the rear shade
  • press & hold raises lowers the shades on both rear doors as well as the rear shade
