M6 convert..

i just got 14' M6 a month ago. Currently it has 1400 miles. I am having issues with brake. It squeals a lot. Took it to dealer two times for same issues

1. first time cleaned calipers
2. second time cleaned rotors and everything

but problem is still there.. Anyone having this issue...

I dropped it back to dealer today for third look.

any comments...

Yes, it is a common problem. Look here:

Normal. Happens when water moves brake dust in between the pad and rotor where it settles and creates the squeak. Whenever this happens to me I just take it to 45mph+ and slam on the breaks. Clears it right up.

I tried doing this multiple times but that didn't even help at all. It still squeaks loud on every traffic light I stop.

Try a higher speed if possible/safe. If it persists then have BMW switch out that pad. It works for me every time and buys me considerable time without brake noise, but then again I never let the debris settle for too long. Perhaps by the time you tried to clear it whatever is causing the noise was already too embedded between your pad/rotor or perhaps there is a bigger underlying issue. I know the sound can be annoying though, it's a pain in the neck.

After dealer cleaned all the brakes, same day i went for a drive and for the first few miles it was quiet so I thought it will be ok now. But after i drove it for few miles noise came back. Its back in shop today and I asked them if they need to change pads or whatever so this noise can go away. It takes all the fun away from driving with this loud squeaking noise.

Did you beed in the brakes? If not... you need to do that. Do 3 60-5 mph panic stops in a row.. don't stop between them, after the 3rd one, drive the car normally for about 5-10 minutes at normal driving speed... you won't have an issue after that. You might have to do this several days in a row. From my understanding the constant "squeal" is from incorrectly breaking in the brakes.. so you have to wear them down a little. Do it several days in a row and see what happens. I did this on my M5 (because it was used as a demo for 65 miles, sales guys slamming on the brakes...), I did the beed in for 3 days in a row and never had a problem again...

Hopefully... mine was fixed (after replacing with low noise pads) for couple weeks and then...
