I love the snort that the exhaust makes when lifting off from the throttle. But why isn't it rev-matching on downshifts?

gorgeous car. Love it.
but it's such a pig on the track.

I bet that the new F80 M3 & F82 M4 will destroy this M6 on the track.

Disagree.....BMW M6 style wheels have been one of the best styles ever to come from factory. I hope they continue to make them for a long time. I love them.

kind of biased seeing as you have them on your car... they WERE great rims, i think its time for BMW to move on and come up with something with some real wow factor seeing as the rest of the car imo has that.

I am bias that is why I bought them. They look great even better then M3 competition package multi-spoke wheels or any other BMW wheels in my humble opinion. They are on par with some of the best looking OEM wheels ever made among the car manufacturers.

One can clearly see that they are super popular due to their simple yet sporty and elegant design. Also, they are much more easier to clean and up keep with then some of those multi-spoke wheel that are nightmare to clean thanks to brake dust.

Looking at the pictures one can clearly see how much the 20" optional M6 style wheels stand out compared to regular 19" wheels. They make the M6 look sporty.

Anyways I guess each to his own but I hope BMW keeps offering them for a long time to come.

BMW 20" 405m wheels would have been a better option.

Man, the torque is just over the top. Until he gets on the long straight you hardly ever hear an upshift.

It's actually quite neutral and if your saying Bill and Andy are not good drivers... you're nuts.

If you've never driven Laguna or seen it in real life, the track is very technical and the turns are not straight forward because of banking and elevation changes. The red markers are NOT the apexes of the turns and actually if you hit those spots you will destroy the tire and wheel and cause some other damage as well.

Bill is very aggressive coming out of the corkscrew and purposefully gets the car into almost an understeer sideways drift as that is the fastest line through there and when you let up the rear end gets loose into an oversteer for the next turn, it is magical to see how all that weight can be tossed around thanks to the hard mounted suspension and e-LSD. The M6 is real quick for such a heavy machine- it is impressive and I'd love to see someone take it vs. an AM and go head to head bc the M6 is actually cheap then.

I'm glad someone said it. Laguna Seca is considered one of the most technical (if not the most technical) tracks in the US, I did a Skip Barber school at Laguna Seca so I can tell you from first hand experience that it's a brutal track and also my absolute favorite.

You have to remember that these guys aren't trying to set laptimes, they're just driving fans around the track and trying to show them a good time without putting them in danger. Another important thing a lot of people don't seem to grasp is that road cars are crap on the track. All of them. Absolutely every single car that is sold at a dealer from any brand is way too soft (in terms of springs, bushings, sway bars, etc.) to be any good on a track. I've been in a Superleggera around the track and even that was too soft. Generally speaking, street tires are done after just 2-3 laps of aggressive driving on a track, you need to stop or at least slow down and cool them off so obviously these drivers can't go 10/10s in these cars all day long. I learned this last point the hard way trying to get in front of a 997 Turbo at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway and ended up going straight off the track when my tires completely gave up.

Holy crap Lugana looks like a beast. From what I've been reading I thought the M6 would sound more docile but it sounds very throaty at WOT.
