New 650 Owner, Pics Included/Mods In Process

Ok, so I know it doesn't exist until a pic or two are posted. It's February, well now March, but the weather is not really friendly for clean pics.

It was clean in our before (X5) and after at the dealer. Installed a set of Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 tires. They seem to be quite good so far in the couple hundred miles we've driven. The car is smooth and amazing compared to the X5 for sure.

'14 650i X drive, M Sport, Executive, Lighting, Driver Assist Plus, Cold Weather. Carbon black/Black Nappa with active/ventilated. Dealer experience was great! Added tire/wheel protection and an exterior/interior protection package. Tint will come in spring when they add the paint protection. Look forward to sharing and hearing how to best use this power!

Loving it so far!!

I don't like pics of these cars covered in salt & dirt. I would get a clear bra on that Michigan car ASAP before the front end is pitted to hell.

Thx. I'm not planning to drive too much before spring. But, yes I'm getting a protection package installed when I can get back to the dealer.

But, this thing is great in the snow with these tires. We don't use much salt up north by the way.

Good plan. I am formerly from the miserable state of RI- so am familiar with tough winters. Still would go with a clear bra- much better protection than ja paint protection pkg, which is really just a sealant. Put a Xpel ultimate on mine to keep those nasty love bugs from
making a mess here in Florida.

Not usually a fan of red, but yours looks awesome. White interior or ivory?

Nice, looks just like mine but brighter! I've been looking at pedal covers and the M Performance pedals don't match the dead pedal very well. Where did you source yours?

Bimmian.com after much searching. Really like them. Could not stand the plastic block BMW calls a gas pedal. Be warned -drilling the brake pedal is a real bitch.

Trying to decide about the M Performance version. I will probably try those on the gas/brake and see how they look with the dead pedal as is. If it looks crappy I'll probably just change the dead pedal to match. Why they wouldn't add the metal to start with is beyond me. Even my X5 had it with the M Sport/Perf packages.

Hey Joe. You should move that detector up higher for a better view down the road.

Hey Bonz,

Actually played around with it on the dash vs behind mirror. Not alot of difference. And honestly, direct wire hookup was easier with the dash location.
BTW, when do you get your M5?

About mid-April. The build just started yesterday (3/2/15).

I have my V1 mounted behind the mirror with the hardwire running across the header and down the passenger-side A pillar to the fuse panel behind the glove box. It was worth the effort since the V1 has the rear facing receiver and needs a clear view out the back.

Yup, with the VI it does make a difference with the rear radar receiver. I have one in my 4Runner. Love the Escort 9500ix with GPS filtering but miss the "arrows" of the V1. Sounds good on the M5, what colors did you get?

Appreciate everyone's comments. Seems to be an active board.

I'm going to replace the grilles; not a fan of that chrome "teeth" out front on the carbon black. Either M Performance black or the blach with the chrome accents; haven't decided yet. I have to find more pics before I make a decision.

Trying to find a set of summer wheels also, but I have a couple months to "browse" until I find my taste. I'll probably end up with the same style 351s but staggered. Anyone have any comment on their staggered wheel setup they could share? Change the vehicle behavior at all or just looks?

Need to find a good trunk liner also, anyone find anything better than the Weathertech? Oh, and the pedals. Then spring will bring window tint.

Let me know if you want me to take some pics of my black with chrome accents grille. I actually thought I was ordering an all black grille from BMW, but I ended up with the black / chrome one. I ended up liking it quite a bit.
