My first BMW...a 640D Gran Coupe

Hi, My first post and my first BMW!

Well I have not long put a deposit on a "pre-reg" LCI 640D Gran Coupe

I have spent a number of months debating over this and eventually managed to secure the very car I test drove back in November (one other went through my grasp, however this is a better deal overall).

Spec
Alpine White, Dakota Black Leather, Fine Brushed Alu Trim

Options
Sunroof, 20's, Rear View Camera, Sun Protection Glass, Adaptive LED Headlights, Front Comfort Seats, HUD, Speed Limit Display, HK Sound System.

Cannot wait to collect her, but have to do a house move first.











I have spent 10 years detailing, culminating in playing a lot with coating products, but also old school wax - last year I purchased a full Zymol Vintage as a pressie to myself. I have pretty much completed my other car detailing correction wise all by myself taking my time, although I want her to be more of a weekend toy now.

I only have to wait until the 21st now .

Although my other car has decided she wants some attention with a noise from the front end probably a wheel bearing chirping away so that is getting sorted today . I do all this for her by saying you will have a garage and I get this back...

Anyhow, cannot wait, I am not aiming to correct this and have already banned from that by the OH.

Still debating over the grills but I doubt I will be allowed and mods have been pretty much banned as my other car is lowered and a few other tricks...and now struggles with speed bumps.

Great looking car - not the one from Stratstones by any chance ? If so, I had my eye on that too - lovely motor.

I bought mine from Stratstones Doncaster - similar Pre-Reg LCI with 9 miles on the clock and a massive saving off new.

As an aside what do I run with for the first wax or sealant session?

She will be prewax cleansed/glazed after decon, with an eye to hiding some defects (light swirls etc.): Prima Amigo (polymer so can sit under sealants), Swissvax Cleaner Fluid (oil so wax only) or Raceglaze signature pre-wax (again the same as Swissvax CF- under wax only)?

Wax: Zymol Vintage, Swissvax Mirage or Best of Show?

Sealants if it was I was going to run with Gtechniq C2 version 3...(with Prima Amigo underneath)

Interior leather cleaner and protector (note not conditioner for modern clearcoat leather) already decided in the shape of Dr Leather . Plastic dressings etc. still to decide.

(this takes my mind away whilst the MX5 is in to have a metallic rattle from the front passenger side looked at- still dragging on)!
