B&O worth it?
I've been shopping and found a car I love it has all the options with the exception of B&O, those that have it is it worth it to hold out or is the regular stereo capable enough?

Absolutely not worth holding out for IMO

You can always replace the audio components. I would make sure it has Comp Package IMO.

A lot of used M6 have B&O. It's not a rare option. If you really want to, I'd wait for it. There's plenty of used M6 out there. It is better than stock sound system, although not worth the $4000 BMW charges brand new. I had the Hi-Fi on my F10 and now B&O in my F06 M6; I'm glad I have it. It gives the M6 a more premium feel of the interior together with the full leather dash. As you know, the center tweeter "opens" up when the system is turned on; and at night, the B&O speakers have LED mood lighting.

Agreed on all counts regarding the other comments. Ultimately it comes down to your usage of premium sound system. To me, as I only listen to talk radio, I don't care about premium sound, actually B&O gets in the way of talk radio.
That said, you have to understand, most M6s were custom built to order. In 2013 and 2014, dealerships did order their own and had them sitting on their lots, but for the most part regardless of who ordered the build, most were built with B&O, Executive, and driver assistance packages. So finding a M6 without any of these 3 packages is pretty rare and actually indicates a likely custom build by a specific buyer. The more rare options are competition package, and painted wheels (and for the GC, 433 wheels). The more rare options are CCB, 6MT, individual interior/paints, and night vision.

You won’t save much buying a used M6 without it. New I wouldn’t and just build a custom system that sounds 10x better than B&O for same price.

If you want a really good sound system for your M6, make sure it DOESN’T have B&O! It’s ok as a factory upgrade but for the same money you get a proper custom built system, and that’s real audio quality. The biggest problem with B&O is that options to rebuild are near non-existing... So, better off not having it!

It really depends on how important music sound quality is to you. I had the HK system on my F10 and it was just decent. When I was in the market for a CPO F06, B&O was a must. I passed up a lot of good cars in holding out for B&O. Although it is merely marginally better than HK, it would be just better enough to avoid me from having to upgrade to aftermarket. Of course many will recommend going aftermarket and getting a better system for less. However for me, I was not to excited about tearing apart my new-to-me BMW just for a new sound system. I have had many aftermarket systems in the past, and although they sound good, there always seems to be some things that are not put back quite perfectly such as trim, door panels, etc. Not to mention, these cars already have battery drainage issues, so I prefer not to put any extra draw on the battery.

I have the B&0 and absolutely love it. I had it in my Audi A7 right before this so very pleased. 16 speakers... I used to be the one that would add aftermarket stereo in my vehicles when I was younger but had the HK in my Lexus prior to the A7 and this is a major upgrade. Worth it if you can find one with it.

As an aside, certain colors look awkward imho with the silver b&o package, like a beige interior.

So I found another one fully loaded with B&O, its only a couple grand more so I'll probably just go that direction. Thanks for all the feedback, really helped me out!
