A true M, Motorsport car like the GTS does nobody want to drive everyday, it's a fun car like a GT3. So in case to sell an amount of cars, you need to sell what your audience wants! |

It looks so good that it makes me think it'll drive well!
... even though I know it'll be a boat

Good to hear, keeping fingers crossed. It will give it an additional competitive advantage as barely any of its GT-class rivals would offer that (AMG/RS 5/Maserati, etc.)

M is in a tough position. It has to compete with AMG, Audi RS (or, it seems even S models if you read/trust C&D), etc. while trying to maintain aconnection with motorsport and it's "classic" customers (low weight, manual gear box, hydraulic steering, etc.).
If M is not profitable, it will not exist. That would be bad. I personally hope BMW sells enough heavy, powerful cars that it is able to throw a bone to us once in a while...like for example, the Z4M coupe or the 1M coupe. My lineup seems (to me) the best of modern M cars, but I'm really looking forward to the F80 M3 or (here's hoping) M2.

M cars should be halo cars-- not a lot of volume, but attract people the brand as a whole.
