M6 computer freaking out

LEDs going nuts, won't turn on anything electrical won't pop the trunk. One of the computers is making the strangest ticking noise. It's the computer right below the trunk. I'm trying to get into the trunk through the pull tab now to reset the battery. I'm calling the dealer tomorrow. Not spending a dime of my money on this car only has 8k miles bmw can suck a fat one if they think I'm shelling any money towards this.

Drove the car 3 hours before under normal conditions.

With 8000 miles on it, why would you think you would have to pay BMW for the repair?

They'll nickel and dime you for anything and everything I'm sure you know this.

Ground Fault?

I had some similar issues when I first purchased my F12. The problem was a ground fault! It's incredibly frustrating, but all will be fine.

Sounds like a battery issue to me. Goodluck but I wouldn't worry at all.

I hear ya. I had the dreaded 'Emergency Call Malfunction" at 1/2 your mileage. 3 visits. Replaced antenna #1, replaced some com box in the trunk lid and eventually tracked it down to a loose connection. When I saw the boot taken apart I practically fainted. Good as new.

Be patient...all will likely be well.

Sorry you're having trouble only after 8k miles. Mine is already 18k miles and the only thing that needed fixing was the left front camera. All under warranty of course. So no need to worry about shelling out money to fix the problem you're having. Good luck!

That sucks man. Did you run this through a car wash? Sounds like some water might have hit the electronics...

jeez I wonder how you respond in life when things really go bad, you have a car with a warranty with a issue that could be as silly as a fuse, water, or a map light being left on. How about seeing how they treat you before going in approaching it this way.

Its a Machine ... I am sure they can figure it out and will be likely under warranty ... now if it keeps re-occurring then I'd be concerned as when the warranty runs out this may be an issue ...

I had an issue with the 8th cylinder miss-firing every so often on my 2011 S63 AMG ... cracked the spark plug each time .. CEL on and car limped home ... each time they replaced all spark plugs and re-tuned car ... but as we came close to the end of warranted I got rid of it and moved to my 2015 S63 AMG ...

My 2007 M6 Cabrio had no issues other than the occasional CEL if not running Shell V-Power... but last year the self leveling headlights started to have issued and stop working ... never could get a fault code, and worked fine every time dealer checked ... luckily never charged for the diagnostics ... that was time to trade it in as the warranty was gone!

Ride it out ... these care complex machines with miles of electrical wiring and computers and engineering ... hope its a one time thing ... if not plan on trading it in before warranty is gone and enjoy the reason to upgrade ... could be the one fluke lemon if it re-occurs ... or just a minor issue if once fixed it never re-occurs

If you think German Machines have a few issues ... look at Jaguar, Land Rover, Rolls, Bently etc etc ... all have a few issues from time to time. My new 2015 S63 AMG has had issues with the self park function - one sensor would stop working - since replaced no issues ... even my 2016 M6 Cab had CEL issues when we went catless at 2000km , and 2 x since the Akra Evo exhaust went on at 3000 km ... no CEL/Emissions issues for past 3 weeks and we are now near 5000 km.

Fingers crossed for a one time glitch Bro!!

Have them call my dealership. BMW of Corpus Christi. They fixed this on my M6 like in February or March. Took 2 visits. It turned out to be a loose connection between one of the 2 antennas and a com box or something. Juan is the Svc mgr. I can get the name of the head mechanic if that'll help.

Any update on this? I got the SOS call malfunction error on my M6 a few weeks ago and the dealer promptly replaced the antenna. Fine for a few weeks and then the error came back a few days ago.
