M Carbon Ceramic Brakes

Hey gang.

Not sure if anyone else is having this issue or not but I thought I would post. I've had a squeal SO bad on my brakes that the sound could shatter windows. I also have some sort of rubbing sound from the front end when the steering wheel is offset by a degree to the left and right of center. Dealer has had it for 3 days and finally got the approval to do a full brake job on the front end.

I only have 8k on the brakes and I never tracked or beat the hell out of the brakes. More to follow...

Mine squeal very loudly if they have been very wet, for example after washing the car. Otherwise they are quiet.

Maybe your breaks needs some cleaning as I had some noise in mine and when I took it to the service center they told me that they need some cleaning.

Did you bed the brakes in?

ie... 60-10 never coming to a full stop... 3x, then cool down for 5 minutes at speed limit.

The chatter/squealing usually due to glazing which is attributed to not bedding the brakes in.

applies more to Iron rotors but is applicable to Carbon/Ceramic brakes.

You own ceramic brakes.
If you have never owned before, prepare yourself for intermittent noises.
Its a sales gimic. Only track cars need ceramic brakes.
Should of saved yourself some $$$ and stuck with factory brakes.

nah

you are thinking Full Carbon where you need a ton of heat to get them to operate properly. Those are not the same as Carbon ceramic.

Different animals.

Ok cool.
Sometimes brake noise warranties are hard to get covered by the dealer.
Would like to hear if they actually replaced them under warranty.

I think it states that with the purchase of that brake setup that there is no warranty for noises due to the function/design of parts and that it is not included in the "maintentce" program too..

It's never been intermittent. The lack of break dust alone has made this add-on worth wild for me.
