I opted for the new (last year) apple package that gets you a new phone every year. $40.00 per month (for 128k memory.)
You just bring the old one to any Apple Store, no questions asked.
So definitely on a priority list for the 8.
For a techno geek like me, it was the perfect package.

I've had my iphone 6 plus since 2014. Back then it was subsidized and I got it for $400 or something like that. I see them on ebay for $250-$400. I think I could probably get $300 for it easy, it's in excellent condition and it's the 128gb version. It would be nice to have a new phone every year, how has the iphone 7 been treating you? Is it worth it?

Been an iPhone user since the iPhone 2G, this year switched to a Samsung S6 Edge Plus, can't wait to get a new iPhone. Android is just too buggy, apps crash too much, the fingerprint reader is useless because no apps support it, I hate typing on it. Nothing is ever easy or where you expect it. Funny/odd shit happens all the time. The better screen and camera is not enough to suffer with such a crappy OS. My wife has the S8 and it is a good looking device with a great screen and great camera, my plan was to get one but I can't stand it so im going back.

iOS is just way more efficient and polished, it just works and I'm much more productive on it, the apps (non-google) are on average much better on iOS. Android has gotten better over the years, I still have a Nexus tablet but for my phone, I need it to be fast and efficient, I don't have time to waste fiddling with it.

They have bought back over 1b shares and only have a little over 5b shares left. If buyback continues (and it will because they are a cash machine) they can increase EPS without even increasing revenue 1 cent.

Buyback half the shares, stock price doubles with zero growth. AAPL is so unique in their profitability that this is entirely possible. They are making $50b in NET income per year.

AAPL is trading at 14 times 2018 earnings. The average S&P company is trading over 22 times 2018 earnings. Apple stock is extremely cheap...or many you'd rather buy AMZN at 200 times earnings?

BTW, AAPL is going to become less of an iPhone company and more of a services company. Their services business is already their second largest revenue stream with crazy margins and 20% growth. The installed iOS based is well over 1b active users.

Once AAPL gets a valuation like a consumer products/services company, the stock will explode higher. Right now, it's still largely valued as a hardware company...which it's not.

Those are post-split prices back calculated. The stock in 2011 was in the $300's which is what you would have paid to buy it at that time.
