Oil leaking from the steering rack - have to remove to fix?

I have a 2010 M6 that is leaking oil from the top of the steering rack. Is there a seal I can get to by just popping off the steering shaft, or do I have to pull the entire rack to fix it?

If I have to pull the entire rack, has anyone seen a DIY for the job?
