Just purchased 2014 BMW M6 GC, few questions

I noticed a couple of things while driving, but I guess I have two main questions:

1)Cars idle fluctuates just slightly at idle, it is 19 degrees outside but I'd say that's not normal.. stays between 500 and 1k but there is some movement

2)At a carwash the rear bumper tow hitch cover popped out. I noticed theres no tether on this one, but it is a factory BMW tow hitch cover.. why might that be?

Those are totally different machines, different engines and putting out less Hp and tourque figures.

My last M6 cab (2007 with 5L V10) and current car (2016 with twin turbo 4.4L V8) both had/have the idle racing a little issue you speak of and both have been serviced and test driven by my dealer regularly since new.

If you get a different answer than "that is just normal as these engines are tuned to near their max" (more possible with mods) I'd be surprised.

Please keep us posted ... Be interesting to see another BMW certified/trained mechanic/dealer opinion on it!

I have akra evo exhaust and SS catless down pipes on my current one and this seems to exaggerate the idle fluctuation on really cold starts ... And these mods went in after 2500 km break in ... And the idle issue was just noticeable before the mods.

Hope it helps

Meantime, enjoy the ride and welcome to the club

How many miles on your car ?

1) I'd be thinking about your MAFs being a bit dirty and may require cleaning.

2) No idea sorry

If you are taking it to an automatic car wash, part of the problem could be that ! All the pieces go in on one side! Not all of them come out on the other side sometimes! Too risky for me!
