Full Hamman Wide body M6 with BMS JB3 S1 Dyno chart.
Hi Guys, i came from n54forum N55 with a 640i GC & 4 days ago just replace it with a M6.
I'm quite pleased with the result for the extra boost with JB3 S1 (+3psi)(+4psi) The dynamics dyno measure way lower than other dyno machine, I'm not looking at the peak whp but more on the difference between before & after results. Today a few hours before the dyno we took out the downpipe n remove the ceramic cat away so therefore didn't manage to dyno it with fully stock. AFR was from 14+ down to 12.5 towards the 4500rpm range till red line. I'm still waiting for my S2 with meth nozzle to come so that I will push it further to 5psi or even more. For me I like to explore more on how to increase the power further & m not to worry about the stress on the engine bcos I think the S63TU should be able to achieve much much more than that. Just for reference my 2013 N55 640i bone stock dyno at 225ps (factory spec 320hp) on the same dyno machine. After my fbo with upgrade turbo DP n most of the things that u can think of dyno at 336ps. That was the highest I can go with the turbo boost max out at 18.5psi. Anyone feel free to comments but bear in mind I'm not a mechanic so may not be able to answer too technical question. Thanks for sharing your experience. How car sounds after removing Ceramic Cat?
can you post the sound? and is it hard to remove? how long does it take?

Is not difficult to remove the cat, he took about 3hrs to finish it. To be honest the sound isn't that good so I'm thinking of welding the mid resonator back to reduce the sound cos is quite loud now but the power is very good as the turbo spool much much faster.

not bad at all! How much did the Hamman body kit cost? always wondered.

Oh man... I love the color of your car! I am seriously thinking of getting my car wrapped or dipped this color -- love it!
On hollowing out the cats do you have any popping when letting off the throttle? I know with one of my other cars I hollowed out the cats and it popped. Brian

Great results, do you have any issues with it kicking up a error code ? . I don't suppose you have the other plot of the dyno graph with the AFR attached ?

Today not long ago I just got a engine chk light on, set it off n see how later. The dyno screen can only show 2 graph at a time, AFR on the graph looks good with 14+ down to 12.5 towards 4500rpm till red line.

Hi Guys, can I check with you. Yesterday I had a race with a f13 G Power Tune M6 with stock exhaust. I have my traction off n all to sport + mode, we roll start at about 10 miles speed n gun together. 1st to 3rd we are on par, 4th onwards I start to pull off 1/2 a car length away from him n slow to 1. Not long after my car start to pull back with a few check light on then the gas start to cut off in n out then I slow down the car. I was running at +4.5psi with 98ron n 2 bottle of +6ron octane booster.
I realise it was the transmission warning light n have to on n off the car for a few times to set it off but it didn't went off. Finally my friend advice to run it at a speed of 60 miles for a while n is gone.* Do u know what causes this to happen? Is it b cos of over boost so the transmission can't take it? Or maybe over boost without enough fuel so the transmission cut off to protect it? Please give your point of view. Setting up meth kit to test it further to see how well can it be?
Today, finally set up the meth tank which i hv waited for more than a month. Order it for my 640i but now can use it with my M6, can't wait to hook it up with the S2 board n have fun with it.
Anyone know where I can buy gapable cooler spark plug for our engine S63TU? And what plug r in our engine? Thanks

I would run a closer gap or change to a grade higher . I used to use the HKS grade 9 race plugs ,which are NGK . Remember you are running more then 3/4 psi over stock boost ! .
Because you now have no cats , you will be running higher boost , as there is no restrictions on your gas flow. I would drop your boost down aswell to around 2.75 this should compensate for the additional boost that you are running without the cats . Running meths will only reduce detonation but allows you to run more boost , sometimes it kills power up to peak power . The only way forward to get a proper tune is to replace the ecu or someone to finally hack the ecu so that you can adjust the various fuel, ignition, boost tables . These are expensive engines when they go pop , so don't get mad on HP figures. Many cars drive and accelerate better with less boost then cars with high boost and more hp , it's all about how the power is delivered . Drive carefully |

100 octane fuel 5lb boost increase Or pump 93 with 50/50 water meth mix 5lb boost increase* 93 pump 100% meth 6lb boost runs strong 100 octane 100% meth 6lb boost runs strong. He never had misfire, according to him the trick was to let the car adapt 1st. These r what he say this morning thru N54forum. This is all new to me about anyone getting misfire codes. The only thing I can think of is, not letting the car adapt to the boost. As I would increase my boost I would do a couple of third gear pulls slowly getting into the throttle so the MAFs get a good reading. then I would do some fourth gear pulls ect. Both my cars with crazy miles with the BMS stage 1 no issues. Believe me if I had any I would have posted and Terry would have been the first to know. Even on my new M5 14' I'm running BMS stage 1 4lb boost increase on 93 pump and 7000 miles on tap with no codes what's so ever. Stock everything except for K&N filters and carbon filter delete.

That is right!
The way I know the reason for your issues is from my experiences as I would adapt both my cars. As for my M6 I have an AEM lambda gauge installed, and as I would start with the basic boost increase airfuels would look great. As I would increase boost, the first 3rd gear pull the car would run pretty lean. Never would I keep going through each gear until I was fully adapted. As I continued each third gear pull I would notice air fuels would get richer and when I would park the car the next day the car would Run stronger and airfuels stayed within the safe zone. Right now my M6 on both setups wether 93 octane 100% meth mix 6lb boost increase or 100 octane 100% meth mix 6lb boost increase air fuels are low 12's high 11's. As that said in the beginning airfuels up top were high 13's in the first run to now where it always is at 12 to high 11's. The more the car sleeps the more it adapts. Remember a 4th gear pull is perfect for the MAFs to read an adapt and i would do that after a lot of 3rd gear pulls Take your time adapting and be patient. On my F10 M5 14' I was running 93 octane NOS octane booster with 4lb boost increase. Even when I went from 3-4lb boost the car didn't feel as strong until I went through the adaptation process. Now I'm running 4lb boost with 93 pump with no issues and have put 7000 miles since. Even on my E63 M6 full boltons and 150 shot of NOS the car ran low 11's high 10's airfuel up top. This also had to go through the adaption process. After 50 10lb bottles and lots of mileage never had any issues. Stock fuel system on 93 pump stock spark plugs but had to be changed every 10k and was a dry kit 2ft from the MAF sensors. Good luck to all hope this helps. Quote:

That's great reading ,this tells me that the ecu operates on 02 feedback ,similar to the vettes running bigger cams and headers . I guess it needs time to re-calibrate its map on the various pulls . It's nice to know that the AFR reading becomes better during the course f the week.
