Main coolant reservoir for F12 650i replacement and part number

Hi all,

Anyone knows the part number for the main coolant reservoir on the left side for the 650i F12? This is for N63 and coolant reservoir is at the front, left side above the wheel, not at the firewall. If someone replaced it or posted diy how to replace it, I would appreciate if you post a link, I couldn’t find it on the forum.

Is there any difference between Behr/Mahle or Febi Bilstein and OEM part at the dealer?

Thanks

Garage List
Looking at my F06 I only see the one in the rear by the firewall and the one in the front center. Not sure if I’m missing something or if the F12 is setup that much different.

Regarding manufacturer, I’d personally not hesitate to go with the Mahle/Behr. They are well know and make quite a few parts for BMW as OE. Rein is also well known and makes parts for BMW as OE aslo.

Looking on FCP it doesn’t list any manufacturer as the OE for the main expansion tank for my F06, but does list Rein as OE for my expansion tank cap, which leads me to believe Rein may be the original manufacturer for the tank as well.

Go to RealOEM.com and put in the last 7 places of your VIN and you can get the part number for anything. Click on the part number and it will open a new page, highlight and right click on that and select "search Google" and you'll get prices from places that sell it.

The n63 engine layout is slightly different than the N63TU/TU2/TU3.

N63 expansion tank/main engine coolant reservoir:
https://bimmercat.com/bmw/en/search/...63/ECE/17_0489
For a possible DIY...include the other BMW models that had the original N63 engine...which should have the coolant reservoir in the same area or vicinity.

N63 engine coolant reservoir:

N63 Coolant Reservoir is over by #5 and #13:

The N63TU's engine coolant reservoir is mounted in the left fender (driver's side if your LHD)...and the fill tube is located in the left rear of the engine bay (in front of the steering wheel if you're LHD).

The N63TU/TU2 main engine coolant reservoir is #4 in illustration below (mounted in the front left fender) and the fill cap is #5 which is located at the rear of the engine bay:
