Upcoming 2013 BMW M6 Convertible (F12) spied with its top down and interior showing
BIMMERPOST NEWS Upcoming 2013 BMW M6 Convertible (F12) spied with its top down and interior showing Today brings more spyphotos. This time of the hotly anticipated BMW M6. Now the FEP M6 has been spied a few times before, but never the drivers have never been bold enough to drive with the top down. What we do see of the new M6, follows very closely to what BMW did to the M5 relative to the F10 5-Series Sedan. The new M6 has the required M logo fixed on the black panel display in the tachometer area. The steering wheel looks to be the same wheel used on the BMW M5, although without the M stitching on it -- yet. The gearbox cluster has also been changed to incorprate the M DCT system, in a similar arrangement as the new F10 M5 with a triangular silver bezel surrounding the actual rounded gearknob. On the exterior, the level of camo tape has not changed from the previous set of spy photos, which is to say that the front and rear fascia are still covered up. However, the details on the rear bumper can be made out through the tape, and appears to follow the current M trademark design to the rear, which is similar to the rear bumper on the 1M and X3 M Sport. It is still not known if the centerpiece would be black as on the 1M or painted as on the M5. Despite all the camo, one gets the overall sense that this is a beefier and more brawny M6 when compared to the standard 6-series so expect this car to be a real head turner. Power will likely come via the Twin Turbo 4.4L V8 that powers the X5/6 M and the F10 M5 which is good for 560HP and 501ft-lb of torque. Expect to see the car revealed in full sometime in calendar year 2012. For reference, this is the DCT cluster on the new M5 |

100k M car with soft top = Fail.
Can someone explain this to me? Why softtop? 335 has a hard top? Is the only feasible argument the weight savings? And in that case, anyone who is buying a convert vs coupe already doesn't care about the weight? |

The new 6er should be hardtop. I know it adds weight, but 90% of vert customers probably would not care about that.
I could possibly understand the 1er being a ragtop, but BMW dropped the ball on this one. |

Soft Top w/flying buttresses: you rule!
SMG: you no longer rule as much, unless 6MT is also offered. And finally, this is an enthusiast's coupe: let's see some COLORS! LSB! Hellrot! Javagrün! Aventurine Silver! Fjord! Speed Yellow! Inka! British Racing Green! A BMW shouldn't put you to sleep, visually: that's Benz's job. |

I actually prefer soft top, the hard tops make the car look kinda retarded like the 3ers.. Plus the extra weight it adds!
