LCI M6 Coupe

Hi Guys, I have the M5 LCI , this september I may just look at the new LCI M6 coupe, I need rear seats but not for more than two hour journeys max for an adult, will they be big enough?.
The GC is too big for use. Thanks.

depends on the size of the adult

they wont be happy either way though as you'll need to have the front seats up quite a ways to fit comfortably for a long drive...

It works for us. My wife and I are both over 6'2". And my sister, who's 5'7" has no problem riding in the back for several hours. My wife would have to move her seat forward quite a bit. But not so much that she's uncomfortable. Not sure about having two adults in the back though. That might be too much of a challenge...

Why not the M4? I have a feeling that the M4 has more useable back seat space than the M6 Coupe......

Keep the M5, and get the M4

I keep hearing through the grape vine that the LCI for the M6 won't be coming this year. Anyone else heard any different? I'd be surprised if it didn't, but that's what's being thrown around.

No M6 LCI this year. The model changeover to 2015 just happened 4 build weeks ago.

Getting one in about a month- figured the LCI wouldn't change much like the f10 and the M6 has pretty much everything already... Including iDrive touch finally with the 2015.

Damn. I was certain that the LCI was coming out for the M6 for 2015. Well guess not. Is the iDrive touch controller confirmed for 2015 M6's though??

Even if you're a runt, the rear seats are essentially worthless. Just keep that in mind.

Even for a small 20-30 min trip; they're just not realistic for humans. haha

iDrive touch should be an easy retrofit...but after using it I can definitely confirm you're not missing anything by not having it.

My other halfs M135i has iDrive touch (crazy that our 1 series has it but my 6 series built at roughly the same time doesn't!) and I find it much easier to select letters with the knob than it is to write them on the touchpad. In any case, I nearly always use voice control for things where I'd use the touch feature so I find it never gets used.

What I am more interested in is whether the adaptive high beam assist from the 5er's down is retrofittable in the 6 series - that IS a feature I'd like.

Palmnuts, pardon my ignorance but what exactly does Adaptive Highbeam Assist do?

Your not being ignorant; for some reason I don't think the feature is available in the States

Anyway, in Europe BMW offer this cool feature on their 3, 4, 5 and 7 series....but not the 6

The feature has an almost infinite high beam pattern - rather than the normal 'high beam assist' which just gives you full beam or dipped, this moves the light source around objects like oncoming traffic or cars in front. So, you get almost continuous high beam, but it creates 'boxes' around objects to avoid blinding them.

Here's a video that explains it far better than I can....

I am not a fan of the touch controller, its actually quite frustrating

Well the M6 GC is buildable for MY2015...I havent seen the M6 Coupe thats MY15 yet...Makes me wonder if the coupe will be the LCI in 2015 and be available in September?? Speculating, maybe the 2015 is buildable but its not on the BMWUSA website whereas the GC is a 2015MY buildable

The rear seats are not that bad I mean it's not worthless for 20-30 minutes and depend on the size of people, but for long trips and tall people yes I agree with you

The changeover happened for all M6 models at the same time from week 10 onwards. Coupe is buildable on the UK site for example and now clearly shows the touch controller.

There are a few other changes like electronic service history and Harman Kardan audio in lieu of audio system professional.
