BMW extended warranty pricing!! WOW

Holy Sheet. Just was inquiring about maybe getting a CPO for my M6 that I didn't buy from the dealer and I think a CPO needs to be signed on the spot when buying the car. So I asked about BMW extended warranty. Prices seem outrageous. Has any one dealt with these before and are they negotiable? Any one know their cost on these puppies? 100% markup?

The quotes I received weren't as extensive.

Warranty (I believe 84/100k) - $5220
Maintenance Upgrade - $3695

I didn't get either option. I got burned on maintenance upgrade by not putting enough miles on my last BMW. Plus, most of the repairs that were required weren't covered, so the CPO was mostly useless. From what I've found through brief research is that the 3rd party warranties are actually a better deal. But PLEASE correct me if you know differently. I think the thing to look out for is whether the 3rd parties will pay for OEM parts in repairs and not lower cost options.
