That GC is going to be stunning. I don't think I've ever seen a Black on Red combo on a GC before. Most of the 6ers go the luxury route instead of the sporty one you've chosen. Congrats! I can't wait to see it.

My last 4 BMWS have had Ivory White/Black World interiors so I like the luxury route, it is easier to sell on as well I reckon.

When the vermillion red was recommended to me, and some helpful pictures here came up, I was not convinced as it look too gaudy. Until I saw the real thing today - the red is actually a deep burgundy and with the contrast stitching on black, looks brilliant. Sporty but still on the right side of expensive BMW suggests no impact on residuals, easier to sell on than Cinnamon Brown.

It will be a shame to see my much loved F07 go.
Keeping the Maser of course.

That's going to be one great colour combination - love the contrast stitching.
Glad you went for the piano black trim. The aluminium just doesn't look as classy IMO.

Who knows, might see you on the road

very nice spec, congrats! now the waiting begins....not sure on lead times on the GC, I was quoted 6-8 weeks on my vert last year. Car arrived 16 weeks later, it seemed like the longest 16 weeks ever but definitely worth the wait.

BTW I have cinnamon brown and it looks great, I also had this on my 535d and I experienced no issues with selling the car or the residual value offered by BMW

Cinnamon is an interesting color. I think it looks very bad in the lesser "Dakota" leather of the 5ers, but it looks absolutely stunning with the 6er's Nappa leather. It makes a huge differance.

I've noticed that Cinnamon looks richer & a bit darker(?) with Nappa leather. In a good way, less 'orangey'. Perhaps this is why.

^^^ +1. I noticed the same thing. Looked at a 5er Dakota interior before ordering my car and almost passed on CB. I'm glad I didn't. Looks great in Nappa.

For some reason brown is such a hard color to get right.

Just got similar deal in UK

Hi

I just got similar deal on a white GC with vermillian red interior, just fab

I noticed, Like me you haven't gone for VDC, ITS A £1100 OPTION.

I didnt notice difference and as the Msport has great dampening away I went with one with out it.

I am now wondering have I done the correct thing!

I had a 7 a couple of years ago with VDC and never moved it out of comfort. My M3 which was undriveable in anything other that comfort.

UK roads the standard stuff is great.

Your comments please to stop me worrying!

You're not going to miss the VDC in normal mixed driving urban and motorway.
In any case, you prefer to keep it in Comfort mode. VDC adds anti roll stabilisation and more chassis and drive train electronics that really come into their own in spirited driving on curvy country roads and tracks in all honesty so the standard option was fine for me.

My irrational option was the LED headlamps - £1600 is stupid money for incremental improvement over the excellent xenons, more so because I wanted it because it just makes the car look the business.

Cinnamon Brown Nappa is excellent, thanks for the lovely pictures and commentary, yet not a very popular option in The UK going by my dealer research. In my opinion, The best brown BMW do is Cohiba Brown which unfortunately is an extended leather option only available on the Individual package at £5600. It is a deep tobacco brown and just stunning.

Is VDC needed in UK

Hi

Tried and failed to send reply, SO will try again.

I have got similar deal, your car has a great spec. It will be fab.

I like you have not gone for VDC why have you not gone for it?

My opinion was in UK the last thing you want is stiffer ride

VDC

I tried one with and with out VDC, the trottle response is good(standard) but fail to see the added value to the Damper control.

My drive is 6 miles country and 43 motorway, so I think its good as it is.

My dealer explained the motoring press love the VDC and adaptive drive but is real world you dont need it. ( Could be telling me what I want to hear)

The same journey I did in my M3,and because the roads where so bad, It never really could safely put its power down, its the worst type of own goal. This great performance, but conditions of roads effect its performance.

The CG appears to have a balance with good performance and comfort

I hope I made the right choice,it feels great to me. Time will tell.

Hope your wait is not to bad, but with the Mazer I am sure you have a good destraction.

Thanks

I've had my 6GC MSport with 20" alloys for several months now, so hopefully my impressions of VDC may help. I bought a pre-reg dealer specd car, so hopefully there's no buyers bias.

Firstly I should highlight a common misconception with Adaptive suspension. The settings such as comfort/sport/etc are not discrete suspension settings. The suspension remains active throughout, the various settings simply alter the bias/cut off points towards stiffer/softer suspension settings. For example in comfort mode the suspension will not permanently be set to a fixed comfort orientated setting, but will merely have a bias towards softer more pliant setting.

As a real world example, I encountered a large pothole while in comfort mode which I suddenly swerved to avoid. The suspension stiffened up to improve handling, despite still being in comfort mode.

The converse is true of sport mode. The suspension settings will have a bias to sportier handling, but still provide a pliant ride where possible. Its constantly trying to adapt to the surface and your input.

Having said all that, I generally drive on decent roads (the odd pothole aside). Therefore, I'm undecided if I'd spend £1100 on the option, particularly when its unlikely if I'd recoup much or any of it come resale. I'd certainly forgo the option without too many qualms if as in your case there was a stonking deal on a car.

Its a decent option and does a good job. But on decent roads the benefits while still there are less apparent. Therefore if you're happy with the standard MSport suspension, don't bother confusing yourself by trying the adaptive suspension. It will just add an element of doubt, when previously you were perfectly happy. IMO its not a night and day must have option unless you drive on very poor roads. And if that's the case, you should also consider dropping down in alloy size, as it isn't a miracle worker. You won't get ride quality equivelant to an old XJ riding on 16s with lots of rubber :/.

The 6 GC comes reasonably well optioned anyway. Personally the options I'd definitely tick in future are HUD (speed limit display) and LED headlights. HUD should be obvious to anyone that's used it for any length of time. Full LED lights IMO really set the car apart. Moreover, I can see them becoming defacto spec (if not standard as they are with the CLS sport) over the coming years, therefore they'll keep your car looking more contemporary for longer.

Hope that helps.
