Great choice of cars; the 640d and the XKR. Always had a soft spot for the XKR and they are a stunning car to look at. You will not be disappointed with the performance of the 640d, in the real world, I bet you notice no difference, even the sound of the 640d in sport mode is fantastic, you will be paying half as much for fuel though! My trim is Dark Poplar wood, think the American Oak is not that different. Would be great to see some pics of your convertible when you get it. One tip, buy some BMW black rubber mats for the front and back, my standard fit white velour mats are in he boot until the end of the lease! |

Thanks for the tip, for sure will order some mats.
My business partner also ordered a 640d in almost exactly the same spec. He went for HUD rather than nappa and aluminum rather than wood, so will post some pics of the two together. We have a pretty cool underground car park at our office so should get some great pics of the pair. He's trading his '09 911 C2S and he was also blown away as soon as he tried the 640d. It was sad to see the XKR go, it was a fantastic car. 50,000 miles in three years and NO problems whatsoever. We also have a new Meteor Grey fully loaded Cayenne D arriving in May (our 4th) so should be a fun month. Planning a 3 week trip to Spain in August. Will take the Cayenne as there are 5 of us, but would love to do that trip another time in the BMW. Last edited by RDT; 04-25-2012 at 11:47 PM.. |
