[QUOTE=SCOTT26;7707873]Some news. (Which we already know)

Gran Coupe will enter production in 2012.
Launch will be in Summer 2012, suggesting either a Paris 2012 Debut (But Beijing 2012 is not ruled out either)
On sale date will be late 2012.
Manufactured alongside 6er @ Dingolfling.
Design is shared with the new 6er
Geneva is out because the F30 3er Sedan and M6 Coupe will debut @ Geneva. The F31 will debut @ Leipzig.

Gran Coupe will be available with two Diesels and 2 Petrols. Active Hybrid variant also coming as is the M Gran Coupe.
Gran Coupe is lower than the 3,5 and 7 Sedans.

If you look at the sillouhette above the Gran Coupe you can see how they have joined up the raised shoulder-line. It is like this on the new 6er too, it used to be cut over the wheel arch like the Concept CS until Mercedes-Benz brought out the E-Klasse Coupe, although some conspiracy theorists maintain it was altered after Karim Habib departed for Mercedes-Benz since it was intially his vision on the Concept CS.

Thank you for this link! ~Frost

If i had to take a intelligent guess, the 6 series coupe will be rocking the 90% same front end & even similar rear based on what happened with the 5 series GT and 5 series sedan!

The front looks great, and their position makes sense. The 3/4 view of the front fender looks kinda funky, and the rear looks like it should be called phaeton CNS(coupe-not-sedan)

So I am confused...is this the new 8 Series or just another variant of the 6 Series?

Are these the engines?

Yes, but when Ford added 4 doors to the Thunderbird in the '60s, they didn't call it a coupe...

The "gran coupe" should simply have been the 5 series sedan.

This looks tons better than the Panamera. Funny, I just saw a Panamera today in Philadelphia...I really don't like the Panamera at all. I think it's kind of silly for Porsche to have made it. C'mon - Porsche's are supposed to be two seater race cars!

BTW - my first impression of the 6GC was, "Hey! - this looks like my sparkling graphite E90, but stretched and squashed!". Any body else get this first impression?

Looks awesome, I could totally live with rocking one of these when the E90's lease is up.
