F06 650i M Sport exhaust part numbers

Hello guys,

Did any one here retrofit the M sport exhaust for a non M-sport F06 650i? From the RealOEM site, the left and right axle back parts only showed the quad tail pipes but not the trapezoid tips. Is that only a depiction error on RealOEM? Or do I need to order the trapezoid tips separately? Kind of strange as I understand the trapezoid tips were wailed to the pipes......

Many thanks.

I think you should just go aftermarket instead of M sport and probably similar money with much more aggressive note.

Maybe. But the M Sport has basically no drone, where as pretty much all of the after markets are prone to drone....

I see

M Sport exhaust note is all right, but I hope it is a little more aggressive, not AMG but a tad better. I am searching for X Pipe that I can swap in and out myself, so I can keep OEM look and avoid harming warranty especially with drive train malfunction issues that I am facing.

I am pretty sure it's the center box that makes the difference between the M-sport and regular OEM exhaust. The reason the rears have different PNs is the color of the tips (black or chrome), which are welded on. Only the M6 has quad tips.

What I am thinking as well. I will be replacing the center muffler with the m sport and that is easy. But my car is very dark and I wanted the black tips as well....

The M-Sport exhaust for the 650iGC arrived and having it installed at the moment..... But it is a bit disappointing as it is not a simple bolt-on direct fit and will require welding

Well... Got the car back! And the exhaust note is well worth it! And I had them tie the flaps open with metal wires while they were putting it on

so does the note with flaps open on both sound different enough? You had the flaps open before too right?

Yes. The non-M sport one sounded a bit louder with both flaps open, but still very tame. I haven't tried the M Sport closed sound as I had them tie the flaps open during install. And the M Sport sounded mean, but not obnoxiously loud. Much deeper rumble, real nice......

Let me check with my shop and get back to you on that. Got to compliment my shop, though. I gave them all the part numbers from RealOEM and they worked with their supplier to cross check the physical parts to make sure they are right before shipping. And that's where they discovered that there is a separate part number for the whole kit instead of individual pieces......

Huge rain storm now. Will take pix when weather clears

Thanks!

If you can get us the right part number, I'm sure other members including myself would be grateful.
