Had no idea BMWNA warranty starting 2017 is only 3 years 36k miles
I guess it's better reason to start trying some other brand of cars. Other brands have just started to jump on the free maintenance bandwagon and BMW starts gimping theirs? The coverage is also much more limited than the old 4 year 50k

Yup. Thats why i snagged a 16 Gran Coupe. My guy at the dealership warned me about the new warranty which also either limitis or eliminates brake coverage!

Sorry I got a bit confused, but after reading in detail it seems "warranty" is still 4 years 50k, but no cost maintenance is 3 year 36k and does not include wear and tear items. still does suck compared to buying a '16

Yeah, BMW is doing a lot of little things that are adding up to me being pushed away from the brand. CPO doesn't transfer (makes my cpo car worth less on the used market), maintenance doesn't transfer, and now the maintenance package has been cut short and doesn't even cover brakes. Every time I am ready to buy a new car I find myself looking at other brands more and more - mostly Porsche, but there are so many other great cars out there that BMW really needs to step it up IMO.

Mercedes dropped that years ago. I don't recall any Euro brand that does. And I don't mean purchasing a "maintenance package" I heard brakes are taken off the BMW list for sure. But I don't know what else, maybe its just that 1 item. |

I think squeaky brakes would be considered a defect and should be covered
If the pads are however worn down quite a bit, I think you have to start paying I'm actually still living with some squeakiness |

With regards to the squeaky brakes I had the exact same problem I mean bad. I recently wanted dust free brakes I was tired of driving 5ft and my nice adv1 wheels looking filthy. I contacted Zeckhausen and spoke in depth about the posi quiet brake pads. I explained I do not track my car so I need a very low dust brake for street and high way driving. We than looked at the 2 for the "sport" model and "standard". He was not clear what the difference was until he did some digging. He found out the "sport" ones have weights on each corner to stop the vibration. The standard do not have this because the stick 19" wheels the m6 has can not accommodate the taller pads. I said that's not an issue I hav 21" custom wheels so I ordered the sport pads from posi quiet. I had them installed and now it's been a month and not a single squeak out of them. 100% gone now and coming from not being able to pull into my condo without the embarrassing noise. I also can report no difference in braking performance but 90% less dust. Honestly best $150 spent and if you want quiet brakes give them a call.

I used Zeckhausen to get the Hawk Ceramic Performance pads for my E46 M3 back in 2005 when I lived in NY. |

I think BM are maybe looking at there terms and conditions due to replacement of the CCB , there current terms say to me that the CCBs are covered. The reason I say this is that if you look at the below spec guide it is advertised to the purchaser that they are covered.
These are the UK t and cs and quite clearly states that discs and pads are covered.Ive sent BMWUK an email and Havnt had a reply as yet , I shall resend it for them to confirm. Sent them this email although I got it a little wrong as its the wiper blades that are covered up to two times in the period .Still had no reply, so would say they are covered but they are not freely saying so. |
