M6 Competition Edition Fully Wrapped
Hello BimmerPost members, we’re glad to be an official sponsor of the boards now.
If anyone has any questions or needs help finding an installer please PM us or reply to this thread, we’re more than happy to help! XPEL San Antonio had the honor to completely wrap this 1 of 100 BMW M6 Coupe Competition Edition over the past few days; they applied XPEL ULTIMATE self-healing paint protection film to every painted area of the vehicle, to include the carbon fiber roof and headlights. XPEL ULTIMATE has a 10-year warranty that covers, yellowing, staining, cracking, blistering and delaminating. It is also self-healing against swirl marks, fine scratches and more. XPEL ULTIMATE Paint Protection Film: We used pre-cut kits for this entire vehicle, and with our pre-cut kits you have the option to wrap the edges, so there are no seams where possible. That means the film will wrap of the hood, fenders, etc. The kit is available below: Now for the best part! A completed and finished picture outside, in front of XPEL San Antonio We started by installing our self-healing paint protection film on the full hood If you look at the edges of the hood, you can see film still hanging off, once dry, the edges will be wrapped over the panel to make for a seamless installation The installer is wrapping the rear quarter panel with XPEL ULTIMATE The film is resting on top of the paint, waiting for the installer to squeegee out the excess installation gel The carbon fiber roof is also wrapped with XPEL ULTIMATE; here the installers are spraying the roof with installation gel, then laying the film on top After the film has been installed on the carbon fiber We moved the M6 to our lift to install ULTIMATE on the front bumper Our pre-cut kits have bumper sensors precision cut with our plotter, so there is no need for a knife to cut the film Now for the best part, finished pictures outside after the entire vehicle has been wrapped! With zero orange peel texture, the film is nearly invisible For a truly seamless installation, we remove the BMW emblem on the front bumper and any other emblems if possible The mirrors are also protected with XPEL ULTIMATE The interior is immaculate on this brand new M6 Competition Edition To find an Installer nearest you, click here: XPEL LOCATOR |

With pre-cut kits there is no need to use a razor/olfa blade to trim material. The kits are made to fit the car. If someone "bulks" and install there may be minor cutting required, for example on a hood, many installers bulk install because its easier and gives optimal coverage. Then they'll trim the excess and wrap the edges

2. Its warrantied for 10 years, yellowing, cracking, peeling, staining, delaminating and blistering 3. Not familiar with jet seal, but many people use coatings and/or wax on the film (ULTIMATE). With STEALTH, just a simple wash and drying and you'll be fine. Thank you for the kind words! In regards to ULTIMATE (clear) or STEALTH (satin), ULTIMATE pricing is going to vary depending on where you live and the demand for clear bra… For a partial front end. This includes 18-24” up the hood and fenders, front bumper, mirrors and sometimes headlights. This ranges from $795 - $1,000. For a full front it can range between from $1,795 - $2,100. This includes the entire hood and front fenders, front bumper, mirrors and sometimes headlights. For the full car it can range between from $5,000 - $8,000. This includes every painted surface on the car possible. |

beautiful work! I love the pre-cut fitment
I've seen the Xpel Stealth full vehicle wrap on a new X5M in person while at European Auto Source. It looks just like frozen paint. It is costly though, but probably the highest quality method with added protection. |

So what do you suggest is the best spray wax to put on the PPF? My entire car is covered with XPEL Ultimate, but you don't get the glossy shine without a good coat of wax.
I used Pinnacle XMT 360 spray wax until it was discontinued. Now I use McKee's 37 Fast Wax. Both are safe to use on PPF.

Our precision designed pre-cut kits are tested over and over again to ensure a proper fit. Having a kit versus a custom hand cut job can save the installers a ton of time, and a ton of grief. Using a pre-cut kit drastically reduces the amount of trimming required. That said, paint protection film is an extremely difficult material to install. If the installer doesn't install it precisely as designed there may be slight minor trimming that needs to happen to ensure edges aren’t overlapping, and so that everything lines up correctly. But rest assured knowing that our installers at XPEL Austin are extremely precise when any sort of trimming occurs. |

I had my full m6 comp wrapped and the peace of mind was worth the cost! For anyone who was curious, you can wax and add a coating over it (and i highly recommend it). I had a ceramic coating installed at the same time and never looked back
