1201 mile service

Pulled into the service bay this morning:

Along with the initial service, they'll be looking at:

1. Fine "cracks" along the edge of the D/S rear rotor.
2. Brake squeak (not a big issue).
3. B&O tweeter housing vibrating.
4. D/S seat belt tensioner inconsistent.

They should void your warranty since you passed 1200 mile LOL (JK)
BTW, you dropped her off at Sterling or Crevier?

I was timing it for 1200, but hit 1201 on Edinger/Redhill

Crevier.

Nice cars guys! But I've got to say I'm a bit jealous. Even though I have driven BMW's for decades this is my very first M. I had no clue what I was missing, but I know now. You guys are way ahead of me on that front - you've gotten to choose the options you wish you had opted for. Some of you are on their 3rd or 4th and really have it down. I wish I had opted for the comp package and the ceramic brakes.

I think mine was done in the 11's. I want to say the SA told me 100-1300 is the desired range but i may have that wrong. I like to change the oil a bit more frequently than the factory recommends and than most choose to do the oil/filter change, so I opt to do one between the normal service cycle. It keeps your engine running well a whole lot longer, and especially so on high output engines like the ones that come in an M. So far there are just two things I don't like on this car. One is that there are no longer dipsticks so I can see how dirty it's getting.

FYI - I still have not tried LC yet. One of these days . . . maybe. Since there is already nowhere near enough traction on the rear tires in 1st and 2nd I am having trouble figuring out how that will help things. Like getting a M in the first place, I guess I need to see what it's all about. Everybody seems to be pretty amazed by it.

Enjoy your new cars people!

I'm taking my car in Friday for the 1200 mile service. Are you kidding about 3 weeks? There is no way I am driving a loaner for 3 weeks.

WARNING: Since you have to select DSC OFF, be very careful and perform LC in a large wide open area since there is possibility you lose the control. Your car might go side way badly.
