Buying a 2014 650i Gran Coupe with accident reported

I have been in the market for a 650i for quite some time now and found a few good deals. Found one I really liked for $40k with 30,000 miles which appears to be a good deal. As i checked the car fax I see it has been involved in two accidents. Car fax doesnt say how bad they were but the report says structural damage. Im going to check out the car today, if it drives and looks fine and I proceed to purchase it what do you think is a good price for me to negotiate it to? Im buying it from a well known reputable dealership. Thank you

The first thing I would find out is who did the work. It may be a good dealership, but they most likely just bought the car at auction and have no idea. These cars are a bit more finicky than previous generations, and small issues may become a headache as faults are thrown later. I'd also be a little concerned if it comes from a state that has had flooding recently.

How much more will one cost that has no accidents? Remember, often, but not always, if you buy a bit cheaper, it'll resell for less also. Might be better to negotiate aggressively on an example with no damage at all.

Funny I read this post!

I am looking a 2015 GC with an accident having it inspected tomorrow by a BMW mechanic.

At the same time I?m sitting at the dealer looking at 2014 GC no accident, CPO and same mileage. Asking a little more.

Going through the back and forth... the agony, this is what I want period.

We will see what happens might be able to pull off a deal.

Good luck!

Can anyone point out the difference between 2014 and 2015?

I know the iDrive knob is larger but not sure what else?

Thanks,

Just the knob to my knowledge. I test drove 15's and 14's before settling on a 2014. A mild refresh did not occur until 2016.

15 came with launch control, but the 14 can still be coded.

From what I read, LCI occurred for the 2015s.

IMHO, I would walk away from a car with 2 accidents in 3 years. There are plenty of better examples out there. I had a great experience with Carmax. I bought it and had it shipped. When it arrived, the brakes were shit. Never been changed in 32k miles. They did a complete brake job at no add'l cost.

LCI was 2015. LED headlights became standard, larger exhaust tips, the idrive screen changed a little as well. It was fairly minor, but I do prefer my LCI car over the previous pre LCI cars I have tried.

Color is nice... My current X5 is the same Deep Sea Blue Metallic with Oyster interior.

The GC is ivory interior, very nice.

I just want to walk away with a good fair deal! Doesn’t everyone.

My father had a Deep Sea Blue X5 and it was gorgeous. The 640i you found at South Motors is nicely priced and has some nice options. Get it!

At least on M Sport GCs, LCI was not until 2016

For 2016 M sport GCs, LCI included a revised front grill and revised headlights

If the price is right I might. How did you know it?s South Motors? That?s some heavy duty researching you did.

Let me guess you work BMW? Or you must have gone into my profile, seen my posts, seen I?m in Miami and then tie it all together.

Meeting with the sales guy tomorrow we will see what can be done.

Or maybe I just saw the sign of the dealership in the photo you posted...

Not true. My build was march 2015 and is a GC. Note the dates of the release below, all versions were done at the same time. Granted i forgot the slight changes to the kidney grill bar count and headlight design and setup.
