HPFP Beware!!

So yesterday i was haunted by the dreadful high pressure fuel pump failure that BMW has fucked e90's over since 2009. Even after the class action lawsuits they still decided to put them in our n55 motors. confused2 At 60k i just spent 2 grand in all for my car to come out the shop. Just wanted to give you guys a heads up cause it seems this is an ongoing problem. 1200 for the pump itself.

I thought the fuel pump is covered for 10 years.

You may want to look into the 10 year warranty as stated http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1156395

OP, I wonder if the 650i pump would work in your 640i?
In my 335i N54 we were modifying the LPFP's but I want to say there was a company modifying the HPFP's for those of us with big ST's & running e85. I'll have to see if I can find the thread.

No because 650 is N63TU (V8) and they have GREAT pump!
So if anyone goes out looking at cars AVOID them from getting N55 and get the N63TU
